Highly Suspenseful.

I couldn't stop listening. I listen at night while I'm falling asleep. This book kept me awake. While I usually don't listen when I am busy or goofing off at home, this one couldn't be ignored. Totally enjoyed this book and can't wait to hear the next.

Narrator horrible Good story

I love everything James Patterson writes. I've really enjoyed the Private series, but the narrator almost ruined it for me. He sounded drunk when reading Jacks character.

Too rushed

Is there anything you would change about this book?

The story, while basically interesting, was not fully formed and did not flow. The writing was jumpy and the story line just disappointed. It really felt as though it were badly abridged. I really like the Private series, I feel connected to the characters. However, this one just left a lot to be desired.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

Expand on the plot and develop the characters more fully.

Have you listened to any of Scott Shepherd’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

The narration was excellent...very smooth and easy to follow.

A good second book... Look forward to more.

This book takes place 6 months after the first Private. I really enjoyed the characters and the "co" writer is the same as the first one. Unfortunately the next books have a different "co" writer and I hope they keep true to the characters. I recommend that Private is the first book you read to get to know the beginnings of these people. This book can stand alone but it is much more fun knowing the history. Good book overall.

Not the best James Patterson

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I usually get very engrossed in his books, but this one left me cold and just wanting to get to the end. The tone reminded me of "Dragnet", obviously written and narrated for a male audience.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

I felt a need for more connection between the characters and stories... My perception was of three disconnected stories, all ending too tidily and neatly all at once.

What three words best describe Scott Shepherd’s performance?

Did not get much emotion from the voice, seemed like a Dragnet type narration.

Did Private: #1 Suspect inspire you to do anything?

Not read the others in the series.

Any additional comments?

I don't usually write negative comments, but I believe this one was warranted. Anybody else feel the same way?

Another Twister

Another multi-plot/case twist and turn. Our hero runs three cases and two women at once. Hard to imagine, but it's fiction and a fun listen.
