Good Narration & Story

Dez once a Detective is always one, it seems. Didn’t find what he needed in a bottle, or moving to sunny Florida. A widow comes for help how can he refuse when he wants something to get interested in. A good light cozy mystery that was well done. Enjoyed the audio narration which was good. Given ARC audio for my voluntary review and my honest opinion

Loved this story! Cute mystery of murder! Never judge a person until you know the facts! Narrator was awesome!

Good Listen!

Both the author and narrator were new to me, and I find both are very talented. I loved the twists in this cozy mystery and did not see them coming. I liked the progression in this book and the imagery. The premise of the book was a little far-fetched, but added to the story. I requested this review copy audiobook and have voluntarily written this review. I would listen to more books by this author and narrator. Without giving away spoilers, the ending was great.

A Good read / listen

Murder Beneath the Palms, Is a good read/listen, entertaining, easy to listen too. The title says it all.
I do recomend this book for anyone who likes light crime/mysteries.
At 3hrs 20 mins I wish it was longer, I also hope there is more to come.

ENTERTAINING, WELL-WRITTEN STORY

Listened to this in a day's commute (both ways haha), and really enjoyed it. It was well-written, entertaining, and narration was good. I love a good mystery, and this one didn't disappoint. There's only so much you can get into in that amount of time, but I think for a quick, light, and very entertaining read, it's worth the time :)

Retirement is no picnic

This is the first book by this author I have listened to and I quite enjoyed it, even if it was a bit short The story had a number of twist, that I didn't see coming but the story was easy to listen to. I am not sure it was a cozy mystery and thought it was more a modern detective/police procedural as they didn't go around asking questions of suspects, it was more following evidence. Still enjoyable and I will be keeping an eye out for more books by this author.
Dez after the death of his partner turns to drink. Coming out the other side of the bottle the detective moves to Florida for the quiet life of retirement. But when you are a good detective, sitting on the beach all day gets old very quickly and it doesn't take much for him to join the police force and in the process he makes on to a hit man's hit list. While investigating a shooting he discovers a connection to his partner death and a ring of hit man for hire. Every time he get close to tugging the string, the puppet master snips another wire and a body falls at his feet. Can Dez unwind the tangled web before he becomes the next victim? With conspiracy, deception and treachery it will be a tall order.
The narrator was okay but didn't really have much range for all of the voices did in the story.

Clever mystery

An exciting and page-turning mystery. Who are the bad guys and who are the good guys. Difficult to tell. A hint of romance. Satisfying in so many ways, especially the ending.
