Critic reviews
"A tense, multi-voiced reading." (Kati Nicholl, Express)
"Fast-paced and tightly plotted, this is a dramatic thriller that shows why the books in this series sell by the truckload." (Sunday Mirror)
"No one gets this big without amazing natural storytelling talent - which is what Jim has, in spades. The Alex Cross series proves it." (Lee Child, international best-selling author of the Jack Reacher series)

Story
If you've never read a Repairman Jack novel, this is the place to begin. It's 1990. A twenty-one-year-old named Jack has dropped out of college, leaving his old life behind to build a new one in New York City. Manhattan's rough edges are jagged enough to shred any unwary newcomer, but perhaps not one who is determined to stay off the grid, at any cost, in the busiest metropolis on earth. And to do so, he'll have to take jobs of a less than legal nature.

Ellery Hathaway knows a thing or two about serial killers, but not through her police training. She's an officer in sleepy Woodbury, Massachusetts, where a bicycle theft still makes the newspapers. No one there knows she was once victim number 17 in the grisly story of serial killer Francis Michael Coben. The only victim who lived. In AD 1119, a group of nine crusaders became known as the Poor Fellow-Soldiers of Christ and of the Temple of Solomon - a militant monastic order charged with protecting pilgrims and caravans traveling on the roads to and from the Holy Land. In time, the Knights Templar would grow in power and, ultimately, be laid low. A good book but not my favourite Alex Cross
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, I would recommend it, but I would preface that by encouraging them to listen to or read the earlier ones first, or I don't think they would get such a feel for the whole Alex family dynamic.
Have you listened to any of the narrators’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
These weren't my favourite narrators, but they were okay, and it is good to have multiple narrators for the different parts, it allows you to feel more connected to them.
