I dig. It's what I do. I'll literally use a shovel to answer a question. Some answers, though, have been buried too deep for too long. But I'll find those, too. And I know where to dig - the Blackwood Estate on the edge of the Mississippi Delta. Garrett Blackwood is the only thing standing between me and the truth. A broken man - one with desires that dance in the darkest part of my soul - he's either my savior or my enemy. I'll dig until I find all his secrets. Then I'll run so he never finds mine. When a celebrity blogging position falls into my lap, I'm determined to succeed. That is, until I get my first assignment and actually see Noah Frazier for the first time...practically naked and dripping wet. My heart races and I forget how to form complete sentences. The average song is three and a half minutes long; those three and a half minutes could lead to a slow blink, a glimpse of the past, or catapult the soul into heart-shattering nostalgia. At the height of my career, I had the life I wanted, the life I'd always envisioned. I'd found my tempo, my rhythm. Then I received a phone call that left me off key.
My name is Melody Greene, and I have a confession to make. I slept with my student, a senior in high school. Multiple times. I had multiple orgasms. In multiple positions. I slept with my student and I enjoyed it. I slept with my student and I'd do it all over again if I could turn back time. My name is Melody Greene, and I got kicked out of my position as a teacher and did my walk of shame a la Cersei Lannister from the principal's office, minutes after said principal threatened to call the cops on me.

I was warned about Tristan Cole. "Stay away from him," people said. "He's cruel." "He's cold." "He's damaged." It's easy to judge a man because of his past. To look at Tristan and see a monster. After thinking about it..I don't even know what to say about this story. It involves romance but also mystery and intrigue. It is about a young woman's family connections but also her connection to a stranger. This is just one of those books you have to read to know what is going on. What I can say is the ending left me with a lot more questions than it answered.
The narrator did a really good job in my opinion. After listening to this book I caught myself reading other books but hearing her voice. I would definitely listen to another book narrated by her.

This book was absolutely fantastic. The author and narrator are extremely talented. I loved the unexpected twists and turns. This story has so much going for it... love, betrayal, revenge. I will definitely look for more by this author and narrator. Without giving away spoilers, I never saw the ending coming. The story flowed so well and kept me intrigued. This is one of those books that carries you on a roller coaster ride of emotions and you willingly go! I can't tell if I am more heartbroken over the fact that the book is over or the actual ending. I was so caught up in the characters lives...and now it's over. I think I need a drink.

Jezebel was an interesting story with an unexpected twist at the end. It was a little slow at the beginning but I wanted to see where it was going, so I persevered. I did think it was a bit long and the narration could have been better. It was worth the listen and I was stunned by the ending. I would recommend this audiobook.

Well, this was not at all what I expected! Talk about a surprise ending! I really grew to enjoy Jezebel and Annabelle's characters and enjoyed their time together. I knew Celeste's story was more entwined with Jezebel's life than she was letting on but I did not expect the twist at the end! The fact that the surprise ending happened at the VERY END left me reeling. I didn't have time to process it or come to terms with it before it was just over. Well done!
Emma's narration was spot on although her male voices were not exceptional. Otherwise, she fit these characters well and really helped bring this story to life.
I am still in shock over the finale and I may have to take a break from reading for a day or two to put my thoughts and emotions back together. I will re-read soon to see what clues I may have missed along the way. Definitely worth a credit!!

Jezebel is such a different story! It's Annabelle's story of dealing with the loss of her brother and her parents subsequent withdrawal and distance. When she gets into trouble and is sentenced to community service at a nursing care facility, she meets Jezebel.
"If you don’t pay attention, you’ll miss things. Important things.”...
"Remember kid, the devil is in the details."
Each week while Annabel visits, Jezebel starts relating the story of a woman named Celeste. What starts out as a sweet romance, turns mysterious. The twists and turns in this book took me completely by surprise! I was entertained from beginning to shocking end! I listened to this book on audiobook. 4 Stars

This book was terrible. The writing is juvenile and somewhat predictable. While I respect people who narrate books, I could barely get through listening to it. The narrator's "accents" were terrible. Just listening to it was hard enough. I don't know how many times I rolled my eyes at this novel. The twist wasn't that great either. I'm surprised by how many stars this book actually has. I returned this book. Definitely would not recommend.

I started and stopped this listen several times. The first turn-off was the introduction of the main male character in the early chapters. He was supposed to be French but the narrator kept missing the mark. Badly.
I still wanted to finish the listen because the reviews were so positive. Up until the last chapter though, I don't know why. Until then, nothing happened. There was some back and forth between the past and present but I found myself completely nonplussed. I had no real reason to care about anyone and the bad French accent didn't help.
I did have plenty of questions though:
If Anabel's parents loved her so much to mete out such a strict punishment, why wouldn't they then be at her graduation? Or if Anabel was doing community service with "the olds," why did she get to just sit and listen to one person - for six months. No one else, no other chores. (Yeah, right.) And there were so many more.
To the book's credit, the ending was pretty astounding. Was it worth nine plus hours? No, not to me. There were too many under-developed characters and too many questions to feel good or bad about that ending. It was good but not good enough to save this listen.
I really enjoyed this book. It caught and held my attention. I Ostend to it in its entirety in two days. I was fascinated by the stories and eagerly awaiting the twist. I was sure I had it figured out and I did but not the twist. The ending stunned me. Still don't know what I think about it. Definitely worth a listen

I liked the flashbacks with the storytelling when it was "current" with the teen heroine
There's plenty of character development and you see growth throughout the story.
The storytelling within the book was captivating and had me on the edge of my seat wanting to know what happens next along with the teen heroine too.
It's just crazy how everything unfolded and I really did enjoy the read.
Emma Lysy did a great job narrating this story.
