Publisher's summary

Number-one New York Times best-selling author Vince Flynn - “the best pure adrenaline-charged action writer out there today” (The Providence Journal) - puts Mitch Rapp in the crossfire as America’s enemies tighten their grip.

Returning from a covert mission, Mitch Rapp was publicly hailed by the president for his role in the fight against terrorism. After years of working in the shadows, Rapp was caught in the media spotlight - and marked for death by virtually every terrorist in the world. Now a CIA advisor, Rapp is ready to battle terror far from the front lines.

But when a Navy SEAL team in the Philippines is ambushed, all evidence points to a leak within the U.S. State Department. And a greater threat lurks - a ruthless assassin working for the most powerful men in the Middle East, who are bent on igniting a world war. With the world watching, Rapp must hold back the flames of Armageddon....

Take another thrill ride with Mitch Rapp.

my hero

Love this author love this character and all his supporting cast. The narrator is smooth and easy on the ears, exciting when called for. A wonderful combination for audio books.

Narrator Guidall best for Mitch Rapp

Where does Executive Power rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

In the top 5

What about George Guidall’s performance did you like?

Best narrator for Mitch Rapp and Flynn's character I've heard. Perfect voice to match a macho protaginest.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Made my laugh at some of the sorry situations between the hero and politicians.

Any additional comments?

Yes but they be politically incorrect like Rapp

Executive Power by Vince Flynn

Another superb story from Vince Flynn with a perfect reader. I find it amazing how the book grabbed my attention from start to finish and was a sheer pleasure to listen to.
I notice a person from FL gave it only three stars but I see they never give more than three stars to any book - must be the Sun getting to them.

great book hate the narration

listened to this series first from library downloads which were abridged. Do not care for abridged books but that's all available at the library. The narration however in the abridged was superb and certainly makes this one a poor second. Mr. Guidall's voice and interpretation of the characters is great, but his delivery is just irritating after listening to
Armand Schultz. I so like this series that I want to own them all and will just put up with Guidall, bummer!

Who Wouldn't Want These Guys Protecting Us?

Would you consider the audio edition of Executive Power to be better than the print version?

Yes. I enjoy reading print books, but there are just some books where the brilliance of the author combined with the talent of a fabulous narrator create a truly memorable audiobook. This was one of those books.

What did you like best about this story?

What didn't I like, that would be the shorter list. I realize this is fiction, but part of me believes this author is so careful about his research that I can safely assume there are noble and brave men and women like these characters out there keeping us safe.

Which scene was your favorite?

Every time Mitch Rapp tells it like it is to a politician that needs an eye opener.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I love the scenes - in all the Mitch Rapp books - where you are reminded of all that Mitch has lost and sacrificed, so that you have to admire his commitment to what he does despite the personal cost.

Good book so-so narrator.

truly performance 3.5 stars, just because the narrator doesn't have a great range of voices. that said, hes the best narrator out of the past 5 books.

Action and Suspense Right Until The End

Someone or some country is not telling the truth about events happening in Washington DC.

Who can be believed? The Israelis, the USA's best and most loyal operatives? Are they acting in a trustworthy way? Not really.

Now it is time to find out what the assassin "David" is up to next. Mitch Rapp [a black ops assassin] onto the case. Rapp takes a few flights overseas to see if he can find the mole and/or do away with him.

Once again, former CIA operative most be trusted, even though or especially since he is taking out some of the most notorious terrorists. Will he succeed this time?

Notes: Strong language & descriptions of violence

This would be rated R on the film scale

Stars: five stars across the board.

Vince Flynn was the master of writing, the counter-terrorism, thriller. I've yet to find an author that even comes close.

Great story as usual but get rid of Anna

It is SO good to have Guidall back as the narrator, and Flynn is a master at plots and writing that make every book feel like the potential source of a great movie. However: Flynn is lost when it comes to writing Anna's part. She has gone from being a strong, confident woman in the first novel where she was introduced to a nagging, insecure, whining, self centered shrew. Rapp would never put up with someone so self centered and whiny. My cousin is a SEAL and he and his wife listen to the Rapp books and he emailed me, asked if I'd listened to this one, and said his wife said "This woman could never be married to anyone who does what Rapp or any special forces team member does, she needs to be married to an accountant."

Get rid of Anna. Or make her who she was when she was in the bunker when she was introduced. She is simply unlikeble and doesn't fit the Rapp character.

Outside of that, with Guidall back, Flynn is a master of stories that make me wonder why Rapp isn't a character in a series of movies, such as the Borne series.

George Guidall's reading makes a HUGE difference!

I enjoyed this book so much more than the ones because Guidall's voice is exquisite.
