Publisher's summary

Ex-CIA master assassin Court Gentry has always prided himself on his ability to disappear at will, to fly below the radar and exist in the shadows - to survive as the near-mythical Gray Man. But when he takes revenge upon a former employer who betrayed him, he exposes himself to something he’s never had to face before.

A killer who is just like him.

Code-named Dead Eye, Russell Whitlock is a graduate of the same ultra-secret Autonomous Asset Program that trained and once controlled Gentry. But now, Whitlock is a free agent who has been directed to terminate his fellow student of death. He knows how his target thinks, how he moves, and how he kills. And he knows the best way to do the job is to make Gentry run for his life - right up until the moment Dead Eye finally ends it.

Couldn't put it down!

This is the fourth book I've listened to in this series and by far my favorite! I would put my earbuds in while cooking so I could keep listening since my husband hasn't listened to it yet!

I'm hooked. Can't wait to listen to the next book. Each book so far has not disappointed. The narrator is superb.

Another great gray man story

The story was as believable as a book in this genre can be, and the characters worked for me.
My one gripe was the narrator’s efforts at an Israeli accent. Fortunately, he only had to do this a few times in the story but it was closer to Pakistani than Israeli. I’m an Englishman living in Israel, so I hear a lot of Israeli accented English. It sounds NOTHING like the accent Mr Snyder used.
However, I generally enjoy his narration and find it very easy to follow who’s speaking thanks to his excellent voice skills.

Weapons and Drones and Action...Oh Yes

The writing keeps getting better with each book. In addition to the action, there are a few twists that make the plot less straight forward. The characters are also becoming more developed and interesting. And finally Kiev gets explained. As is expected in the genre, there are a few super human feats and situations that are a stretch, but that is what makes the action so entertaining. The technology described when this book was written 7 years ago was fascinating although I find it is worrisome to think how the technology might have progressed since then. It makes even a non-paranoid person a little unsettled.

Good story, solid performance.

An engaging story and very good narration make this a solid addition to the Gray Man series.
