Publisher's Summary

From the author of My Husband's Wife, Penguin presents the unabridged downloadable audiobook edition of Blood Sisters by Jane Corry, read by Zoe Thorne and Emilia Fox.

Three little girls set off to school one sunny May morning. Within an hour one of them is dead.

Fifteen years later Alison and Kitty are living separate lives. Kitty lives in a care home. She can't speak, and she has no memory of the accident that put her there or her life before it. Art teacher Alison looks fine on the surface. But the surface is a lie. When a job in a prison comes up, she decides to take it - this is her chance to finally make things right.

But someone is watching Kitty and Alison. Someone who wants revenge for what happened that day. And only another life will do....

    "Not for me!"

After having read The girlfriend I was excited to read another one by Jane Cory but the story doesn't go anywhere. Very disappointed - returned the book in the end as I was just not for me.

    "Rather exciting"

I was gripped and the story does not just finish but goes on a little longer thsn expected. Harsh reality and secrets create a devious interplay. Pity some aspects were just a little too far fetched.

Quite predictable in places but saved by a very gripping last quarter with great twists!

    Story
    "Only okay"

I don't often review these books, but for the sake of my fellow listeners, this is a bit boring, the Alison character is dull and the actress reading her is too thespian and precise to be realistic, its a bit tenuous and goes on a bit too long. That said, I loved the Kitty character and the reader for Kitty was excellent.

"Well read but the story is a little far fetched"

I thought the performances were really good and to be fair they were the only reason I kept listening. The distinctions between the characters of Alison and Kitty were really well done. I did think the authors portrayal of Kitty and the way Kitty referred to those around her was brilliant.

The only downside for me was that some aspects of the story were way too far fetched. Even with the explanations offered as to how it was 'possible' some things just didn't seem probable.
