Publisher's Summary

Spring has come to charming North Harbor, Maine, and with the new season comes a new haul for Second Chance, the shop where Sarah Grayson sells lovingly refurbished and repurposed items. Sarah is turning her keen eye to the estate of collector Edison Hall, hoping for fabulous finds for Second Chance - but when her rescue cat, Elvis, discovers a body in the kitchen, everything goes paws up. The body belongs to an appraiser who had been hired to check out Edison's wine collection.

When Edison's sister shows up at Second Chance, she hires Sarah's friends - the kooky and charismatic trio of ladies who call themselves Charlotte's Angels and work out of the shop - to solve the murder, and Sarah knows that she and Elvis are only going to get deeper into the case. But as it becomes a cat-and-mouse game of lies, cons, cheats, and family squabbles, can Elvis and Sarah claw their way to the truth before the killer slinks away forever?

Another good book

Sofie Ryan has created a really nice town with very nice characters and a little murder. I enjoy the characters and how they relate to each other. The mystery is handled well and in a realistic manner. I look forward to the next book.

good story, faulty audio

I enjoy all the books in this series, but in this one the sound cuts in and out. At times it stops completely. That takes the enjoyment out of listening, and makes the story hard to follow.

Clothing

As much as I enjoy these books,do we have to have the endless descriptions of hair, makeup and clothing. It adds nothing to the story. Sure glad I have a skip button on my I pod.

A fun cozy series!

I liked both the writing and the narrator of this book. I saw this series some time ago and thought it would be too cheezy, to tell the truth, but the writing is crisp. the plot fleshed out and the cat adorable.
Sofie Ryan writes an interesting tale.

Charlie's Angels Rock

While store owner Sarah is the main character in this series, I love "Charlie's Angels", a group of eccentric senior citizens who love to solve crimes. The author does an amazing job of mixing mystery, humor and small town drama into an engaging story.

Charming entertainment

I read (er... listen to) a lot of serious, heavy books. It's always nice to have a break from those kind of books with something as pleasant and charming as this series.

The characters are great and I love that Ms. Ryan has older folks in it. And then there's the fabulous Elvis in sleek black fur. Margurite Gavin has been a favorite narrator since I was first introduced to her in The Hollows series.

If you need a good story and entertaining diversion, I highly recommend this great series.

Charlotte's Angels are back for another case

Would you consider the audio edition of A Whisker of Trouble to be better than the print version?

Yes

What does Marguerite Gavin bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The narrator brings to life each character by giving them distinct voices and personalities. You can't get that from merely reading the book.

Any additional comments?

Recommend this series for anyone who enjoys a cast of kooky and fun characters.
