When the body of a renowned British archeologist is found inside a sarcophagus he was bringing back from a dig in Egypt, Redmond and Haze must determine who aboard the Sea Witch had reason to want him dead. The method of murder suggests it was someone familiar with the funerary rites of the Ancient Egyptians, casting suspicion on members of the expedition, but there were others aboard the vessel who might have harbored a grudge against Blake Upton for reasons unconnected to the dig.

Confronted with professional jealousy, affairs of the heart, simmering resentment, and corrosive blame, Redmond and Haze must solve the case before the killer strikes again.

Perfect for fans of C.S. Harris and Anne Perry.

Wowza. This was a good one. The only story so far I got a clue but it took awhile. Excellent premise and interesting characters!!

I thoroughly enjoy all Irina Shapiro’s works. I particularly like the Redmond and Haze series. The great thing about reading any good series of books is that you begin each book knowing you’re going to like the characters…you’re visiting friends!

Solid Entertainment

On the 7th in the series and I have yet to be let down by it. Oddly I have to say one of my favorite things about them is that they don’t spend a lot of time reviewing the previous books, it makes the assumption that you have read it, and if you have not then it’s on you to read it, which I find refreshing, hate reading the same thing over and over book after book as refreshers.

I hope that the rest of the series is just as good as the previous books have been. Great writing, wonderful characters with very interesting backgrounds and the impact of those pasts on the characters like Jason developing diabetes due to his time as a prisoner of war.

Keep up the good work, both the writer and narrator, for the characters can be written well but if poorly performed by a narrator, will ruin an audible experience very quickly, thankfully this is not the case here, quite the opposite to be honest.

This series has me hooked

Once again, Redmond & Haze find themselves with a very unique and difficult murder investigation. Since Daniel high school to London, this dynamic duo have not seen each other or have been able to work to with each other. They are both excited, and what a doozy of a case they have to solve! Don't miss this one!

Quite a Mystery

I love murder mysteries, especially those that take place in Great Britain at the turn of the century. This series is disappointing for me. Though they start out with promise, they have little substance. So much of the narrative is taken up with pondering who done it, & how, wrongly, along the way. The two main characters are married with children, but spend very little time with their families. The Wrexford & Sloan mysteries by Andrea Penrose are far superior, as are C.J. Archer’s series, & of course, Her Royal Spyness series!

Somewhat annoying
