Vocie inflection bothered me so badly

I do the integrated listen and read. so as I'm listening on Audible I'm also reading Along on my Kindle app. I go from one book immediately to the next I have not let more than a day or two laps in between starting the next book of the series. It has only been this book that the characters sound absolutely nothing like they did in the previous 10 books. I was thrown off so badly at the beginning seeing as these characters have formed images based on their voice in my head. to have that change so drastically was hard for me personally. I am not saying that Alex Lee did a poor job just that that switch after so many read by Wendy was hard for ME. I think that would be the case regardless of who the new narrator was. By the middle of the book I had reworked the characters in my head with the new voices and all was well. Truly my only my only complaint! I love these books I have always loved these books and I have yet to be let down!

Good Read, Do not care for Reader

I love all of these stories but really miss Wendy Wolfman reading them! I’m trying to adjust…

The “who did it” was hard to catch and trap!

Another great tale by Irina Shapiro! The story was woven with rich descriptions into a tapestry that was surprising and fulfilling. The twists and turns had me guessing (often incorrectly) as to who the culprit was so the ending was a surprise but made complete sense once the picture came into view. The narrator (a new one to this series) did a great job once I made the shift in my mind from hearing the characters in the previous person’s voice. The author does a good job of presenting the challenges women face in times gone by.

Too graphic

Much too much blood and gore. The story line for the mystery itself is well drawn, but the gratuitous graphic scenes of gore turned me off. I will not continue with the series.

Anoter excelent story, narration not so much

The story was well written as the previous one in the series, but change of the narrator was a big disappointment, it felt like if your favorite Tv show that you've watched for a long time, suddenly had all the main cast suddenly changed. Also the narrator didn't do a good job with the different characters I was confused who is talking all the time, the male characters sounded very similar, which was especially disappointing with Haze and Redmond since the previous narrator did such a good job.
