Adult ADHD can affect men in different ways. Men may experience it in various ways, and its symptoms can be more challenging to detect. Men with ADHD are often overlooked, leaving many who are struggling with their abilities to feel isolated or confused about what they're experiencing. While the underlying mechanisms of ADHD are still being studied, it is thought that the male brain may process information differently than the female brain, which could account for some of these differences.

This audiobook was written for men who think they have ADHD or have been diagnosed with it. In this audiobook, you'll learn:

  • The symptoms and indications that will assist you in determining whether or not you have ADHD
  • The three factors that influence ADHD's development
  • The common misconceptions about ADHD
  • The five habits that can help you manage ADHD
  • The three-step framework to develop several habits when dealing with ADHD

Other benefits you can get by listening to this audiobook:

  • Find out what's been going on in your head all these years
  • Achieve personal goals without feeling like you're struggling against yourself
  • Find out what it feels like to live without limitations on your abilities
  • Stop feeling like crazy or that there's something wrong with you
  • Learn to manage your symptoms better, so you can feel more in control of your life

If you are a man struggling with ADHD, it can be tough to know where to turn for help. This audiobook is designed to provide you with information and guidance on how to cope with ADHD as an adult.

Knowledge is power. Once armed with the facts about adult ADHD, many people find themselves feeling less anxious or stressed-out because they understand why certain situations cause them problems. I am not sure who or even what “Helpful Matthew” is but this reading was terrible. It completely took away from the material and I eventually sped up the recording to 1.3x just to get through it. He reads as if he were a terrible form of A.I. and was programmed in his inflection. If not, it appears Helpful Matthew either did not read the material before switching on the mic, or took no notes when he did. Edgar Wise should be upset this book is presented with such distracting narration, especially when this is a book for guys that are easily distracted. I will avoid any book ever read by this narrator because of this reading.

Narrator made it awful

While listening to the book, I heard a lot of behaviors being described that mimicked my own. It was good to feel like someone else understood how I thought/process new info.

Made a lot of sense

I learned a bit more about ADHD. I appreciate the book, but most of what I heard I’d known already. Great book.

Informative

I was really hoping this was going to be a helpful book for me, but the narration is distractingly off. So much so that I can't keep listening. Emphasis is placed on the wrong words. There are awkward pauses where there shouldn't be. It's as if the narrator was reading it all for the first time without any chance to prepare ahead of time. He expects a sentence to go in one direction and discovers mid sentence that it's going somewhere else, and his course corrections are stiff and awkward. I wanted to narrate the book myself.

Ugh! The narration

This book might be better advertised to people who need help better understanding men with ADHD. But there is no useful information whatsoever In helping those who have it.

No helpful advice whatsoever

I began listening for a way to better understand the men in my life with ADHD. as a female with ADHD I couldn't help but draw comparison to many of my own symptoms. Excited to learn, as the title suggests solutions, I found that the book drones on and on offering little in the form of solution. The writer is short sided in understanding his adhd audience if all the solutions are hidden in the back chapters. This book may be more appropriate for the non-adhd reader.

where's the solution ?

Glad they wrote something for men, but it was less than insightful on how to work through struggles. Felt like I listened to a web search on adhd for men

Not worth the extra credit

I don't like the way each chapter starts with a schmoozy story - it's old-fashioned and trite. You can tell us what you want to tell us without making up a story about a kid who wrote an essay about kryptonite instead of cryptocurrency in school. We get it, he missed an important detail.

The narrator just made it worse. If people have AD(H)D, this is too slow, carefully measured, and, again, trite. Some have said the narrator must be AI. Not sure, I didn't pick up on that. Maybe he just read very slowly because the book was very short and they wanted it to look like you were getting your money's worth.

I didn't.

Disappointing

Sadly I won’t recommend this, it’s all talk talk talk, and never really gets to the solution.

Too much chatter

This was a great read on tools and perspectives to implement into bettering yourself and overcoming ADHD, or even minor issues with attention.

GREAT HAND-GUIDE
