Publisher's Summary

There's one last chance to save the world in Maximum Ride: Saving the World and Other Extreme Sports, the closing chapter of James Patterson's thrilling trilogy. The time has arrived for Max and her winged "Flock" to face their ultimate enemy and discover their original purpose: to defeat the takeover of "Re-evolution", a sinister experiment to re-engineer a select population into a scientifically superior master race - and to terminate the rest. Max, Fang, Iggy, Nudge, Gasman, and Angel have always worked together to defeat the forces working against them, but can they save the world when they are torn apart, living in hiding and captivity, halfway across the globe from one another?

A different twist for Patterson

I'm not accustomed to the SciFi side of Patterson, but he pulls it off well with this and other books on Maximum Ride. If you like SciFi and root for the underdog you'll enjoy "Saving the World and Other Extreme Sports".

Exciting but diappointing

I loved the Maximum Ride series but was very disappointed that only ABRIDGED versions were available. I went out and bought the actual books and so much is lost not having UNABRIDGE. I don't understand this but the story was great.

The Best

The series just keeps getting better and better! The only problem is that it's abridged... Oh well, at least they have it here. I can't even to begin to say how good this series is! listen to the sample on the page...

absolutely terrible

hated it, the story was so basic and boring, narration was awful, sound effects were distracting, and the whole experience was hugely disappointing.

Great Book, Too Short

I read this book years ago when it was releasedj it's a great story, but it loses so much of that greatness being abridged like this - that little musical interlude with the sigh at the end you hear countless times throughout is where a chapter was cut short. Still, I'd recommend this book to anyone who is a fan of the series regardless - it is still worth listening to despite the glaring omissions from the originals tory.

Everything was great but…

I loved this book and everything about it but the one song choice they chose was repetitive, unnecessary and gave me a head ache. It is like a bad porn song from the 90s that they are trying to jam down your throat every chance they get.

Music?

The reading was good and clean. Transition music very unnecessary and over done between chapters or character change.
