Not my style

Everything about this audiobook turned me off. The author sounds cocky. The advice is both obvious and unhelpful. And in general, it's just unpleasant to listen to.

Great content. Narrator is a little dry.

I have listened to this book multiple times. The content is good, but the narrator is difficult to enjoy. It sounds very robotic.

Enjoyed the stories about the author's entry into the art world and his stories about other artists experiences with shows etc. Also had some good tips for readers... and some tips I will certainly apply.

What three words best describe Peter Drew’s voice?

Practical and direct to the point!

I think it was very practical giving directions and not much wondering with wishful thinking like some other books I read. 5 stars from me!

Inspiring book with a lot of great guidelines

I recommend this book to any artist as it gives a lot of information about the business side and marketing for yourself as always as how to be genuine with people you meet and how to decisipline yourself. it has showed that there's a lot you can do and the answer is simple. you just need to be bold and try.

good info, crap narration but worth the time

The guy reading this sounds about as good as text to speech software. In fact Im almost not sure this is read by a human. No proper intonation, no pauses, etc. But the information is good if you can handle the narration. Giving 5 stars because of the 2 free books at Audible Plus, this one is 100x better than the other (your art will save your life)

Same stuff again

Firstly, this seems to be read by AI. It’s an unnatural and tedious voice that makes listening difficult. I had to stop.

The content is ok, but amounts to the usual story of a lucky artist who assumes the same luck awaits everyone else. They present strategies that worked for them and might work for others, but in the telling it just sounds like someone who is very pleased with themselves sharing stories of their luck. Unhelpful if you’re at a low point in your ‘career’ as an artist. Beware if you’re looking to this book for answers when you’re at bottom. It could make you bitter and angry (as it did me). Try ‘Art & Fear’ instead. It’s positive and not driven by the model promoted in this book, ie, monetary gain = success

Stories with a bland narrator

Interesting stories about famous artists and their own (often highly eccentric) success stories, but not as useful to aspiring artists as the blurb makes out. Very financially driven, with a particularly tedious American bloke narrating the entire thing.

Great tips but monotone to listen

Needed to put the speed up to 1.3 and then was able to listen as otherwise it was unbearably monotonous. Amazing tips tho and will listen again soon

very boring and uninspiring

The narrator reads extremly monotone like a robot. There are perhaps some good advises to find here for some readers, but none that I remember as particular useful in the end.
