Publisher's summary

Sometimes the most imperfect match is the most perfect surprise.

Hadley Cooper believes in happily-ever-afters with her whole heart. Described by her friends as a wide-eyed, eternal optimist, she looks for the bright side in most any situation. However, when her job as the assistant manager of Silhouette, a posh boutique on Rodeo Drive, is on the line, she realizes it's time to pull her head out of the clouds and find a way to turn business around, and that just might mean partnering with the most stubborn up-and-coming fashion designer she's ever encountered.

Spencer Adair has a passion for fashion but hates the fact that it rhymes. She's serious about her designs, fiercely protective of her work, and is waiting patiently for her big break. What she didn't plan on, however, was the unsolicited opinions of that overly-friendly blond boutique manager. Or the way her heart beats faster every time she's around.

a great ending to a great series

Melissa Brayden has a gift. she has a way of making you laugh, turning you on, and making you cry, all in a matter of minutes. and she does it very seamlessly.
Hadley was the linchpin throughout the entire series and finally her time in the spotlight when Spencer came around. you'll enjoy the book and the series

Love like this

Lived this whole series.
All the girls either starting families at getting married or just hooking up and then leading to a serious relationship.
I just love predictable happy endings.
Keep up the good work!

Such a heartwarming story.

I've never smiled so hard as I did with this book. What a great story for Hadley. Her love story made so much sense for her. The ups and downs and her insatiable nature in all areas and her big bang, all fell into place. Although, I'm sad it ended, I couldn't be happier for our 4 ladies and their lives ahead. It's everything a romance should be.

Great as always!

I loved this series focusing on venice and the four women. it has been a fun ride seeing where it ended and wouldn't change a minute! I personally loved the narrator due to her emotion. her voice is more high pitched but does an excellent job at immersing her audience into the story.

Seven Shores wraps up Beautifully.

First off, fist-bumps of praise to the audio performer, who gave each character such a definitive voice throughout the book series that a scene with zero dialog tags where each of the four main characters speak a quick line in turn was absolutely, 100% clear as to who was speaking. So much voice talent in the characters. So very much.

I've been waiting on Hadley's book since my first Seven Shores listen precisely because she's the sort of character I adore to read: she's happy, centred, optimistic, and kind. So often in queer romance we drown in angsty characters, and while Brayden does give every one of her lovers some stumbling blocks, and sometimes those stumbling blocks involve scars from hard-won battles, she also has a way with balancing her friend groups that feels just so perfectly in synch with my own experiences of queerness. We don't all drown in angst and pain—we often buoy each other up. No, not perfectly (and there's actually a great example of that within Love Like This where Hadley, who is the go-to caregiver of the four women, asks for help and none of her friends rise to the occasion), and certainly not equally, but a character like Hadley feels all the more refreshing because she's so rarely the character we get to read.

To be clear, I freaking adore Hadley, so I had high expectations of who she'd be partnered with, and—of course Brayden had my back—Spencer was a terrific match. Or mismatch, given how they had enough in common (especially an appreciation for fashion) and yet how different they were. Spencer guards her heart, doesn't believe in "the one," and is driven and confident. Hadley is a cinnamon roll. But together, the sparks flew (and toes wiggled) and more importantly, I bought the bumps on the road to their happiness.

And the scene in Newark had me growling in frustration, which certainly amused the other people on the bus, to whom I quickly explained I was listening to an audiobook. I'm not sure they believed me.

More, as the wrap-up to the quartet of books, Love Like This also delivered way, way more than I was expecting re: the other three pairs from earlier books, without taking much of the spotlight away from Hadley and Spencer. The Isabel scenes had me grinning, the new rankings for Gia and Elle were such a lovely little nod to how far they've gotten, and the twins (and Kate and Autumn) featured just enough to cement the deep friendship the four (now eight) women shared.

And the wee preçis at the end with glimpses of their futures? I was grinning as I walked from the bus stop. I loved these women, and while I'm sad to see them go, it was another perfect bundle from Brayden that reminded me, once again, how good we are when we come together in friendship.

Amazing ending

I loved the conclusion to the seven shores romance series. I couldn't stop smiling due to all the love present in the story.
