Awesome story, well told
This is my very favorite of Melissa Brayden's books. Her background in theater is obvious in her delightful dialogue and precision pacing. I've liked this author from the beginning, but she continues to improve with each book. Her main characters are well developed and surrounded by a cast of interesting secondary characters. I also thought the narrator did a good job with the reading. Can't recommend this enough. It's an excellent story.

Family Complications
The story deals with grief and family. With small town businesses competing with, and usually losing to franchises and chain stores.
Molly O'Brien has taken over her father's bakery and is struggling to survive in a world ruled by Starbucks. Her Wife Cassie has been dead four years now but the pain is still fresh and she hasn't even started to move on. The upcoming occasion of her father-in-law's 60th birthday has brought home Cassie's younger sister Paula. Paula is a film producer and in her medical career family constitutes not only under achievement status but makes her the family black sheep. As a child she'd longed for Molly in the manner of a younger sibling having a crush on her older sibs girlfriend. Paula is now all grown up and hasn't yet overcome that long ago childhood crush on Molly. Or it has at least grown into something more now.
They do the best they can to keep their attraction within acceptable limits, particularly Molly but this is a romance novel, so you can guess how well that works. At least in this case there is a logical reason for their trepidation; after all hooking up with a sibling's ex is likely to create some tension in the family even if the sibling in question is dead.
I've only been reading this genre for two or three years now and one of my first impressions of it was that the amount of drama was way overblown; a reliable source informs me that it's not. The whole lack of communication thing is another story.
There are less cliches and usual plot devices in this work than in the standard type in this genre. A bit too much Hallmark Channel in spots but this selection is still in the upper echelon of the genre.

Any additional comments?
The narration was outstanding! I could definitely hear the difference in voices and I could physically imagine how Jordan and Molly would have looked by the narrators voice. The story was very enjoyable. The narration was fantastic...did I already say fantastic?.....cause it was....fantastic....

Not Melissa's Best...repetitive
After the Soho Loft series it going to be hard for Melissa Brayden to equal or best them. Kiss the Girls was my favorite. Felicity Munroe is my favorite Brayden narrator by far, but this time she dropped the ball. She was trying to do way too much with all the different accents. And after listening to 6 other Brayden books, you really grow tired of hearing the same lines repeated; pushing the hair from the forehead, arm around the waist, the best thing ever, her center, she was so ready, and so many more lines that are used in every book. Not every love affair is the best ever. Where have these people been that everything is the best ever?
And I just found it hard to believe this small town USA would be GayTopia! Everybody even the old folks are all so cool with all these gay people. No way. Finally, I really had a hard time with the 2 characters falling in love. Some things are off limits no matter how strong the attraction. Get a hold of yourselves. There's other fish in the sea, you live in the gayest small town on the planet...find someone else. Hoping Melissa will be more creative in her upcoming books. She really is a great writer. I will continue to buy her books because she is witty and her characters are usually hot, sexy and unbridled.

Sweet as sugar
Just lovely. At first I was sort of hesitant but they story pulls you in pretty quickly with the characters. I fell in love with the two leading ladies and was hooked.
The narrator does a pretty good job at creating a smooth but noticeable transition for each character.
I would recommend this to someone for sure.

Smart, funny and light
The dialogue is smart and witty and sharp. The story is touching and moving. This isn't a novel for the ages so those who consider it too juvenile might want to check the classics aisle. If you want to laugh (out loud sometimes) and feel your heart break just little then read this

Sweet romance!
I really loved this f/f romance. It is a very straight forward lesbian romance set in small town USA. The reason this one works so well how it is written. It is first person, narration with a lot of dialogue based prose (by this I mean much of the narration is expressed using the characteristics of the point of view character). This makes it a pleasant and heart warming listen. The style lends itself well to the reader engaging with the main characters, Molly and Jordan. The conflict is primarily around Molly letting go of her past, and Jordan wanting to ensure she does the right thing for all. The supporting characters are also very engaging adding a great additional dimension. There are a number of erotic interludes (as you would expect) and it provides a great "I love you" moment, which is key to a good romance. Narrator Felicity Munroe does a excellent job bringing the characters to life (amazing Molly). The only niggle is there are a number of reoccurring character actions which become noticeable after a while, but I don't consider a big deal (hand on chin, move strand of hair, lift one shoulder). All in all a great and style of writing that adds an extra dimension to the f/f romance genre. Great work.

I really enjoyed this story. It wasn't rushed and gave the requisite time for the two MCs to work through the difficult situation they were in. At the same time the romance was believable and it was well written.

Could have been 5* but for poor editing
Weird editing glitches spoil a good story are due to poor editing. One small example - one minute we are in a clinic then a hospital then back to a clinic again and so on, when all along we are supposed to be in a clinic. Wrong names used & lots of incident like this. Also very confusing because she said and she said and she said etc with no change in voice to tell which woman is speaking/thinking. It is a shame because with a little effort this audiobook could be so very much better.

A brilliant, hilarious and emotional ride
First of all, wanted to say how amazing the performance was. I was sucked into each moment and fell in love with every character and Felicity delivered them all so perfectly.
The stort was captivating, heart warming and I laughed out loud and beamed smiles whilst listening. Hooked to the very last minute almost with tears in my eyes, immediately wanting to have another listen. Cannot recommend enough

An emotional Ferris wheel of a listen!
How Sweet It Is is a delightful book. Brayden manages to captivate the listener with a truly sweet storyline full of rounded characters. Somehow she keeps the book from being overly sentimental by blending sadness, hope and romance with just enough angst and heat!
This book deals with grief, loss and love tenderly. I l found myself laughing and crying in equal measure. I was truly transported to small town America to follow Jordan and Molly’s journey.
Felicity Munroe does a marvelous job of the narration, bringing the characters to life with energy and charm. A great listen.

Loved the storyline
Laughed silly at the "... abort mission.. the Eagle..." hard to digest the nature of their relationship... but it was beautifully told.. need to add more spice fire...etc to.the epilogues.. this is the second book im not feeling the epilogue.. feels abit rushed...
