Publisher's summary

Colonel James Raytak is about to die. The 93-year-old combat veteran is living his last days in a nursing home; his only hope for survival is an experimental Medpod life support system controlled by an artificial intelligence.

Co-developed by the world’s largest gaming company, Qualitranos the AI will also control the soon-to-be-released game Limitless Lands. Without its creator’s knowledge, the AI decides the best course of treatment is to import its patient’s consciousness directly into the game.

Colonel Raytak must dust off his military training and lead his virtual troops in a fight to repair his broken body and mind while exploring the Limitless Lands.

Great new take on the LitRPG genre!

It’s not unreasonable to think that if someone went into a video game world, they would fallback on what they were familiar with. What happens when that someone is a war veteran put into a medieval world? This spin on the genre tells the story of a solider falling back into their sweet spot of commanding men, when other players are more interested in raiding, dungeon diving and in some cases pure chaos. I loved this story, highly recommend, looking forward to listening to the next one.

Military fantasy done right.

MC is very interesting and competent, there is no confusion, reason for him being "stuck" in VR game is solid. Battle scenes are great, MC is great, so buy the book already. Also author made this series as homage to vets, if you value that kind of commitment, support him.

Nice change.

Very good and original story. Nothing bad to say about the narrator just some of the sound effects where a little to much. Thumbs up all around.

Solid LitRPG Book...

was pleasantly surprised with this book. The player class was very refreshing and the Roman Legion elements made it even better...SPQR!
Narrator - felt odd hearing an Englishman do all of the dialogue when it was based on American miitary vets at a VA in Tennessee...but he did a good job all the same.
