Publisher's Summary

Collins Spanish with Paul Noble combines an exciting, new, non-traditional approach to language learning with the easy, relaxed appeal of an audio-only product. No books. No rote memorisation. No chance of failure.

Paul Noble is a genius with a higher IQ than Einstein. Despite this, he still struggled with language learning at school. He found himself feeling 'confused, incapable, and unable to really say anything'. As a result of his negative early experiences, Paul has come up with a ground-breaking new method of language teaching that removes the need for months of studying. With Paul Noble, everyone really can speak a language.

Part 1 of the course covers:

  • Language ground rules
  • The use of the past tense
  • Asking questions
  • Essential vocabulary to use when booking into a hotel, taking a taxi, and eating out

Two native-speaking Spanish experts help Paul to deliver the course and to perfect your pronunciation. No complicated grammatical explanations, no rote memorisation, no writing - no stress. Learn over 6,000 words in no time at all and - most importantly - learn how to make your new vocabulary work for you. (Use the accompanying booklet as a reference and revision tool.)

Communicating instead of reciting.

Like most K-12 graduates, I took multiple language classes in school, of which I remember very little. But this course is the first tool that has actually taught me to communicate not just recite. Onto the next book!

I learned a lot in this audio. Good buy!

I was blown away on how much I learned from this book. Paul presented the lesson in a smart and structured way, using small phrases then complete and complex sentences in Spanish. Give it a try.

Great Interaction

I am already a Spanish student of several years, however, I have had no immersion experience to gain fluency. I really enjoy the interaction of this book. It has helped me to think and speak more fluently. Great for old and new speakers of Spanish!

BRILLIANT!

Where does Collins Spanish with Paul Noble - Learn Spanish the Natural Way, Part 1 rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I'm not sure if I have ever given a review before, but I was compelled to say something about the book. I have wanted to learn Spanish for over 30 years. I've tried several courses and methods. Pauls method is nothing short of brilliant. I bought version 1 to test it out. I didn't expect much more than the standard course, but I was more than pleasantly surprised. I honestly can't believe how much I have learned in the first 2 hours of this course. This is something fresh and different. I bought the other 2 and hope he makes more. I hope to be communicating more clearly with my friends in Nicaragua this year...

What about Paul Noble’s performance did you like?

He's easy to listen to.

Tried Several Methods

Would you consider the audio edition of Collins Spanish with Paul Noble - Learn Spanish the Natural Way, Part 1 to be better than the print version?

I have only had the audio book.

What about Paul Noble’s performance did you like?

Very easy to follow.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No, there is so much information I needed to listen in one or two hour segments.

Any additional comments?

I have tried other methods to lean Spanish and have picked up some knowledge but this method seems to be how I learn. It was easier to remember not just memorize.

Almost perfect.

The CD version comes with a booklet so I'm a bit disappointed that audio download does not have a link to download and print that booklet. Other then that I like it.

Exceptional!

For context, I've studied Spanish via computer, books, apps, private tutorial, immersion classes and become so utterly dejected (and at times, so acutely frustrated that I've felt a degree of anger) at my inability to pick up the language. It's been a horrid challenge - until now! For her first time, I feel like I am both learning and **retaining** some Spanish. Absolutely thrilled and couldn't recommend Audio Book 1 more highly!

Easy to follow and enjoyable

I have trialled a number of learn Spanish audio and written books and I have found this by far the best.
It's easy to follow, repetitive (a good thing) and the phrases and language learnt will be useful in everyday speech when I go to Spain.
Don't forget that it also comes with an accompanying pdf which you can get from the audible site, though it's not terribly obvious to find and I had to ask the first-rate audible helpline who assisted me admirably

Great programme for learning Spanish naturally.

Would you consider the audio edition of Collins Spanish with Paul Noble - Learn Spanish the Natural Way, Part 1 to be better than the print version?

Yes of course, you need to hear the pronunciations and reading languages can be very boring and therefore easy to disengage.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Collins Spanish with Paul Noble - Learn Spanish the Natural Way, Part 1?

The whole thing is brilliant. I already speak basic Spanish so not only did I learn new things but I was able to appreciate his teaching technique as being very clever and an intuitive way to teach and learn a new language.

Have you listened to any of Paul Noble’s other performances? How does this one compare?

Yes, they are all of a similar excellent quality!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, I listen to it while I work and find that I absorb the information naturally after than forcing it.

Any additional comments?

I would highly recommend this course and any others by Paul Noble. He is a clever man and obviously knows how to teach Spanish to those who always felt they were terrible at languages! What a breakthrough.

It's Great

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn a bit of Spanish.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I liked the two native speakers as well as Paul Noble himself. He cleverly invites a European Spanish speaker AND a South American Spanish speaker and they speak one after the other each phrase so you can tell the difference.

What about Paul Noble’s performance did you like?

He speaks extraordinarily clearly and carefully. His voice does not rasp or grate in any way.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

You can leave it playing while you do chores, or on headset while you're out and about. You do zone out sometimes but he brings things around full circle and you know you can replay it later so it's fine.

Any additional comments?

Before I bought this I read a review that complained that Paul had recycled some material from another course. He has but I haven't remembered EVERYTHING from that course yet AND I do forget it. There is more material on this and I fear I will never learn it all.
