Editorial reviews

The three terrifying robbers in this tale turn out to have hearts of gold after they meet a little girl named Tiffany. Performer Gene Deitch narrates with great drama and homegrown sound effects, as if reading to a favorite child. Though written in the 1960s, the images viewable in the app version have a medieval feel, and kids will enjoy the vivid silhouettes and deep colors. The story might be too scary for more sensitive little kids, but braver souls will love hearing about the fierce men and their unlikely turn for the better.
