Publisher's Summary

This is book three in the Anne of Green Gables series.

Anne is growing up and leaving the Island to spend four years at Redmond College. She meets a wonderful new friend in Philippa Gordon, offspring of an old and exclusive "bluenose" family. Phil's family ties, combined with her beauty and charm, open the gates of all the social cliques and clubs at Redmond. And where Phil went, Anne went. Thus, Anne found her social pathway at Redmond made very easy while other freshettes were doomed to remain on the fringe of things.

Good Voice, too much background noise!!

I looked at quite a few versions and settled on this one because I liked that the narrator had a young voice and did the characterazions quite well . However there is a lot of background noise which sounds like voices and page turning.

A Trip Down Days Long Past

This book is full of flowery description that might be over-done for some. But I thoroughly enjoyed it. It is sweetly romantic and very sappy and satisfying.
I read this because I had never read it in my youth and so started the series out of curiosity. It intrigues me that Anne Shirley, the heroine, grew up in Canada and the Canadian way of life as it was is well depicted in the stories. I will definitely continue with the rest of the series and hope to be as entertained as I have been thus far.

A Long Time Coming

Good storyline and continuation but slow with the plot. I believe Anne could have had a more romantic heart and desire for her true love.

Where does Anne of the Island rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I can't get enough Anne! So it was great to finally read about her and Gil ending up together!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Anne
