Matured storytelling

Although I love Montgomery's first book, Anne of Green Gables, there is something deeper and more mature to the stories she tells of Anne's children. Perhaps it's because I am currently a mother and wife, but this book in the series really touched my heart.

The narrator seems to be uncomfortable.

The narrator seems to be on comfortable with the task of reading the book and makes it very difficult to get through

Wonderful story HORRIBLE NARRATOR

L.M. Montgomery is turning over in her grave at the way this book was narrated. Can you say monotone.

Least favorite, narration annoying

I’ve loved the Anne books, but maybe I’m growing a little tired of the perfectly portrayed life of Anne or maybe it was just a little too sweet or maybe it was the narration which was not pleasant to listen to. The cadence of the narrators voice was uneven and choppy and lacking in sincerity. It wasn’t pleasant to listen to and the children’s parts particularly insipid. Never did get over her annoying voice. Disappointed in this audible.

More of the same, but as good.

I love the Anne of Green Gables series. I have devoured the books one after the other until thin one. It was so boring. It took me a month to get through it. It was the same old stories with kids making silly mistakes, but it felt like more of the same thing. There is one kid who brings up what happened at a funeral. It’s brought up two times so your really anticipating what happened at this funeral. When you finally learn what happens, it’s not the great thing you were waiting for. It was actually just okay.

Not really about Anne

I thought this book was about Anne. It started out with Anne but the book took a big chunk to talk about the adventures of her children. Knowing that Rainbow Valley is supposed to be about her kids makes me feel cheated.
Like this was supposed to be the last real books about Anne and it really wasn't.

Bought audible version narrated by Barbara Barnes. Very enjoyable!

I really enjoyed this story. I tend to listen to Audible books when I do work or drive. Got spoiled with Mary Sarah’s reading of Anne of Green Gables, which made it a little hard to listen to other narrators of the series- but this narrator did a splendid job, in keeping with Anne’s personality and demeanor. Well done.
