Great Book - not so great reading.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Yes - it is one of the best youth books in the world.

What didn’t you like about Laurie Klein’s performance?

I thought she started out well but after a few chapters she seemed over-exaggerated and not true to character. Her voice was a little grating and the acting was bad.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Yes.

Wonderfully narrated and vividly imaginable!

The narrator fully submerged the listener into the story- as a wallflower of sorts. Such a classic story with incredible detail. It provokes a longing for a place one has never been before, yet somehow misses.

Is Anne of Green Gables the best novel ever? It very well might be!

I have all the Ann books biting really love to hear it performed on Audiobooks.

Good story, bad production

Great classic story and the reader did a fantastic job. But and this is a BIG drawback - the sound quality was terrible! It squeaked, and you can actually hear voices in the background!!

Great narration

I particularly enjoyed the narration done by Ms. Klein. It reminded me of the famous DVDs I watched growing up and she narrated it with as much emotion and personality as I imagined reading the books.

One of the best!

I loved this book as a youngster. Today I am 67, and hearing it read was areal treat!

Classic story narrated PERFECTLY!

Of course Anne of Green Gables is a magnificent story made better by Laurie Klein’s narration. Her “Anne” is perfect, bright and open, exactly like what she should sound like. Marilla and Matthew are so well performed that I feel I could visualize exactly how they look. If you’re trying to decide which version of this book to choose, choose this one!

I don’t like this version and would like to choose a different version of the same book, how do I do that? I’ve only listened to 37 minutes of a 10 hour + book. It’s my first free of the month. Thanks
