Publisher's summary

Before It Ends with Us, it started with Atlas. Colleen Hoover tells fan favorite Atlas’s side of the story and shares what comes next in this long-anticipated sequel to the “glorious and touching” (USA TODAY) #1 New York Times bestseller and major motion picture It Ends with Us.

Lily and her ex-husband, Ryle, have just settled into a civil coparenting rhythm when she suddenly bumps into her first love, Atlas, again. After nearly two years separated, she is elated that for once, time is on their side, and she immediately says yes when Atlas asks her on a date.

But her excitement is quickly hampered by the knowledge that, though they are no longer married, Ryle is still very much a part of her life—and Atlas Corrigan is the one man he will hate being in his ex-wife and daughter’s life.

Switching between the perspectives of Lily and Atlas, It Starts with Us picks up right where the epilogue for the “gripping, pulse-pounding” (Sarah Pekkanen, author of Perfect Neighbors) bestselling phenomenon It Ends with Us left off. Revealing more about Atlas’s past and following Lily as she embraces a second chance at true love while navigating a jealous ex-husband, it proves that “no one delivers an emotional read like Colleen Hoover” (Anna Todd, New York Times bestselling author).

A book for girls coming of age

Every girl should read this series to learn that love that hurts isn’t really love. I so wish this was around for me to read when I thought I was in love the first time. I will be giving these to my granddaughters at an appropriate age hoping they can see true love and to know I’m always here to listen.

So Sweet

But it kept me thinking something bad was going to happen. I’m glad it didn’t! ♥️

Colleen does it again

Colleen’s books always are such an emotional journey. I always end up crying, laughing, gasping, or smiling through these chapters. I loved this book and I love the characters

A pleasant revisit

Enjoyed spending time with these characters and the story again. However, it was a bit predictable and sappy. I am always amazed at how book characters are so forthcoming with therapist like observations and dialogue.

Atlas seemed too perfect

In the first book, you made me feel empathy for and even like the villain. I felt conflicted about a man who abused a woman, and I am someone who was abused. It was insightful and relatable. I wanted Atlas to have some flaws but he seemed too perfect and level-headed given his traumatic past.

I’m still in tears

This was a wonderful 2 book series. Between the heartaches and joys I encountered while reading the book was crazy. The tears I have shed is crazy. A must read for sure.

Got closure and passed the time

If you need closure from “It Ends With Us”, the book checks that box. If you’re looking for the goosebumps like you got from Ends With Us, I personally was disappointed.
Performance lent a hand to helping get through the book though.

Editing

The editing had more than a few mistakes/glitches. The story was awesome and I hope there’s a sequel to the sequel lol
