Publisher's summary

It's been three months since all the adults disappeared. Gone. Food ran out weeks ago, and starvation is imminent. Meanwhile, the normal teens have grown resentful of the kids with powers. And when an unthinkable tragedy occurs, chaos descends upon the town. There is no longer right and wrong. Each kid is out for himself, and even the good ones turn murderous. But a larger problem looms. The Darkness, a sinister creature that has lived buried deep in the hills, begins calling to some of the teens in the FAYZ. Calling to them, guiding them, manipulating them.

The Darkness has awakened. And it is hungry.

Read this Series

The Gone Series is an exciting story from the first book all the way through the series. I could not stop listening to this book. Kyle McCarley narration is how I found this series and I am glad to say I did. Michael Grant wrote a very interesting story. While the premise is copy from other ideas I have read, heard, and seen. They way the story unfolds is very enjoyable. World building for the story is very well written.

Loved the book, tolerated the Narrator.

The book is great but the narrators choices of accents and voices was distracting and weird.

Great book bad narrator

I love these books but the narrator over emphasizes every other word “Cain SAAAID” makes it hard to listen to. Theres a female narrator on youtube that does a much better job without giving infantilizing voices to all the female characters an exaggerated stereotyped accent to Eddillio.

Very amazing book I would pay 25$ to read it again

it was so good but the first one was better if it wasn't I wouldn't have spend 25$ on this but but that was kinda worth it I completely broke but I would pay another 25$ again I can't wait until I have enough to buy the next book I might by the book just to put it on my shelf and tell everyone I read it. but also one thing was they kept pausing when I was other stuff and it would glitch then go back like two seconds also It was very unexpected when bug died when I realized he died I was so sad but other then that wonder full

Couldn't Put it Down

I listened to this immediately after the first book, and was not disappointed. Extremely compelling story that I could listen to for hours straight. I enjoy all of the different perspectives and characters.

An amazing narrator

Ok ok. I know many of you guys would say it is not great bcus of how the narrator emphasizes the word “SAID” and drags it across your ears like nails across a chalk board. I can’t say it didn’t bother me at first. I almost chucked my phone across the room a few times… and I read the entire series so I KNOW how good the books are! But speed it up by half and focus on the story, and they way the narrator tells this story practically transforms this audio book into a movie. I knew this series was a page turner when I book clubbed it with my son. But listening to the audio, I actually heard things I didn’t even remember I had ever read and could swear weren’t even in the book. Kyle McCarIey brought this book to LIFE. Even my daughter who refuses to read is now actually READING it while listening along and that in itself is a small miracle. If you’ve started the series do yourself a favor and get over the minor quirks. It is so worth it! I will copy and paste this in the first audio for those who state there!
