The road for Noah Westbury has been carved out for him, long before he knew who his father was. Making sure he worked hard to deserve the opportunities provided to him, Noah is where he's dreamed of being - starting QB for Portland Pioneers. Together, with his model girlfriend by his side, life can't get much better. Except that standing in his path is Peyton Powell-James, his life-long friend and the one woman he can never have.

Peyton Powell-James always knew her future would be in football and dreams of having a successful sports journalism career once she graduates college. After being given the assignment to cover a professional game from the sidelines, Peyton believes that everything is going to plan. Until one fateful night changes her life.

Harsh reality sets in for Noah and Peyton. One could lose everything, while the other struggles to keep the families together.

Communication between MC’s is needed. There love story is mild compared to his father and mother’s. He echoed his father in many ways and when he asked for their advice he ignored them and went stupid. The FMC always waited for him. Great narration.

This author had me until Dezi came to the hospital. Then the story went to shit because of forced cliche ass story lines. Especially because he is clearly stupid enough to not ask for proof of a child let alone a dna test. This “plot twist” was so unnecessary it’s crazy. Constantly saying you’re staying for a kid that you don’t even know exist is pure stupidity and not a lick of loyalty or benefit of doubt towards your significant other is an excuse to be naive but I digress. This cliche ass climax took this book from a 5 to a 3.5 at best. After being able to see how Peyton interacts with him after his nonsense I give it the 5 still 🙄

The climax was stressful

This story was a bit frustrating, Noah was kind of stupid and no one would would be as trusting/stupid and it felt like it drug the story out.

Good, but my least favorite of the Beaumont series

I have had this audiobook in my library for a while and have been holding off. I started this on my my way home from work and it was a beautiful story. There were times that I said spiteful things to Noah and even cried. Ultimately, I am so glad I decided to listen.

You will not be disappointed with this story.

Good story, but definitely a tearjerker. I probably cried for a third of the book, but it was worth it. Very happy ending and the narration was great!

Bring on the tears 😭
