Publisher's summary

The New York Times best-selling author of Shacking Up and I Flipping Love You, Helena Hunting, mixes humor and heart in this scandal-filled romantic comedy, Handle With Care.

He wants to lose control

Between his parents’ messed up marriage and his narcissistic younger brother, Lincoln Moorehead has spent the majority of his life avoiding his family. After the death of his father, Lincoln finds himself in the middle of the drama. To top it all off, he’s been named CEO of Moorehead Media, much to his brother’s chagrin. But Lincoln’s bad attitude softens when he meets the no-nonsense, gorgeous woman who has been given the task of transforming him from the gruff, wilderness guy to a suave businessman.

She's trying to hold it together

Wren Sterling has been working double time to keep the indiscretions at Moorehead Media at bay, so when she’s presented with a new contract, with new responsibilities and additional incentives, she agrees. Working with the reclusive oldest son of a ridiculously entitled family is worth the hassle if it means she’s that much closer to pursuing her own dreams. What Wren doesn’t expect is to find herself attracted to him, or for it to be mutual. And she certainly doesn’t expect to fall for Lincoln. But when a shocking new Moorehead scandal comes to light, she’s forced to choose between her own family and the broody, cynical CEO.

Great story, great narration

I'm a big Helena Hunting fan, and Handle With Care is a great addition to the Shacking Up series.

Story review: Grumpy Lincoln has a lot of baggage with his dysfunctional family (that created his brother, Armstrong, the villain in the Shacking Up series that everyone loves to hate). His grumpiness is like his superpower. Good thing for him Wren is a fixer, and she's got more than enough determination to handle his growling every day.
Handle With Care is well-written, witty, funny, full of heart and heat. It's a fun read with strong lead characters and well-developed side characters. If you are looking for a great rom com, you need to pick up this book.

Narration review: Andi Arndt and Jacob Morgan always deliver great performances as far as I'm concerned. I am always pleased with their delivery. They have great voices, rich tones and subtleties in inflection, and they delivery performances that convey emotion rather than sound flat. Jacob Morgan was especially a great choice for grumpy Linc, and his voice shifted to a different timbre as Linc lost his grumpy and found his happy.

Audible gold!

You cannot go wrong with Andi Arndt and Jacob Morgan, especially with Helena Hunting. I have enjoyed all the books in this series! While the series is centered around a few affluent families, the characters are very complex and nothing alike. Each book is very different from the last one. You cannot assume anything based on the prior, other than the story will be good, you will fall in love with the characters and with them falling in love with each other, and you will enjoy some seriously hot scenes when they come together. Andi and Jacob are spot-on-awesome, as they always are. They are some of my absolute favorite narrators, and on my auto-buy list for sure.

I definitely recommend this book. It's not all sunshine and roses, but it will not tear you apart with angst and suspense. Just a good love story with characters you actually like to love. <3

Definitely a new favorite!

I love Lincoln & Wren’s story so much. There is so much to these two that they need to learn about themselves past and present. I love their banter and friendship and the slow burn which turns scorching hot!!!! Jacob Morgan is my favorite and does another amazing job! Andi gives Wren all the spark & feels. Loved it!

So freaking good!

I always love all of Helena’s books. For this series, this one is probably my most favourite now. I didn’t want it to end! It had so many great parts. Loved the little twists and turns the book took. Andi and Jacob were so good narrating this!!

My favorite of the series!

Armstrong is still a d-canoe. I had to mention that first. But Lincoln and Wren? Amazing! The supporting characters are completely fleshed out as well, making this novel beyond spectacular. Jason Clarke and Andi Arndt are two of my one-click narrators, and they certainly didn't disappoint!
I still have the warm fuzziies after finishing. I simply adored Wren's snark and wit, Lincoln's brooding but caring and sexy attitude. The two are a pair. The scene after Wren has him cleaned up and dressed in a suit made me laugh out loud. Then the panty incident! Dead!
But one thing became remarkably clear: nothing in the Morehead family is quite as it appears. This is one book you don't want to miss! Five stars across the board!

Better with every book

Helena creates such a vivid world that you fall into the lives of these characters. With each book in this series I love it even more, and the narrators do a phenomenal job. A must read/listen.

Not fully developed

The characters weren’t flawed at all and the romantic tension of the possibility that the couple may not get together is missing. There’s nothing to root for and no character growth. It was boring.

The performances are pretty good.

Favorite of the series

I was looking at what I was reading last year at this time and saw I was reading Handle with Care by Helena Hunting , so I looked up my review to share it and realized I somehow never reviewed it! So I went back through my notes and found the review, almost finished, but not quite. Then I remembered that it was also the same week I filed for divorce, so I had a good excuse for not finishing. So I just did a quick re-read via audible and loved it again. Helena Hunting never really disappoints, and the Shacking Up Series is one I truly love.

(Bookstagram photo)

Wren is a PR consultant who was hired by Moorehead media to clean up the messes that the younger Moorehead son, Armstrong, kept making. When Armstrong’s father, the head of Moorehead Media passed away, the grandmother asked Lincoln, the older brother, to stay home and help run the empire for the next 6 months.

Lincoln works building homes in poor countries. His humanitarian efforts are all he wants to do and the big city is the last place he wants to be. He is certainly not at home wearing suits and conducting business. So Wren is given the additional responsibility of whipping the older Moorehead into shape.

"Better get used to me, Lincoln. I'm going to be like your shadow for the next several months."

Lincoln is gruff and angry to be pulled away from his life’s mission to have to wear a stuffy suit and run a business. But he has a heart of gold and will help his grandmother because she asked. Wren takes none of his crap. If she was able to control Armstrong's wandering pervert hands (headlock for the win!) she could certainly handle Lincoln’s brooding behavior.

I loved their banter! Hate-to-love is probably my favorite kind of story because I love all the banter that happens before they give in to their feelings. Lincoln and Wren were perfect for each other, and Helena’s writing had me smiling the whole time.

"You know, Wren, until you came along, I didn't think love like this was possible." I smile up at him. "You just needed someone who could handle how amazing you are."

Likes:

•Stood alone perfectly but is even better if you have read the ones before.
•Helena writes amazing banter.
•Not too angsty.
•Wren was an amazing, tough woman and I loved her.
•It took a little time to like Lincoln, and I loved that I didn’t love him right away.
•Some of the plot twists surprised me.
•Great communication between the couple.
•Lincoln & Wren were adults who didn’t play games.
•Villains you love to hate.

Dislikes:

•Some of the family drama was just too over-the-top.

The Narration:
Andi Arndt and Jacob Morgan were absolutely perfect for the characters of Wren and Lincoln. I read it the first time and listened the second and feel like they really brought the characters to life.

The Down & Dirty:
Handle with Care by Helena Hunting may just be my favorite of the Shacking Up Series. Not only did it make me so happy to see Armstrong get put in his place, but I just loved getting to know and love Lincoln. Loving the heroine is so important to me loving a book and Wren was awesome. They had a mature relationship without silly misunderstandings, a rarity in romcoms. While this one wasn’t quite as over-the-top funny as other Helena Hunting books, it didn’t need to be. It was still a happy, sexy, feel-good romance that I loved both times through.

Great story, great narrators!

What I loved about this book was first, the story and the fact that the woman in it was strong and real and didn't "need" to be a damsel in distress and have a man fix everything. The second thing that I loved was the humor. I love driving down the road listening to a good book with a smile on my face! Thirdly, Andi Arndt & Jacob Morgan were just terrific. All around this was a really good book and I highly recommend it.

Perfection!

This is definitely one of my favorites of the year! This book is SO good! I absolutely fell in love with Lincoln and Wren! The storyline and characters are awesome and you will want to kill Lincoln’s family but that’s what makes a good story right? 😊 the narration is perfect perfect perfect!
