Banks: Buried in the shadows of the city, there's a hotel called The Pope. Ailing, empty, and dark, it sits abandoned and surrounded by a forgotten mystery. But you think it's true, don't you, Kai Mori? The story about the hidden 12th floor. The mystery of the dark guest who never checked in and never checks out. You think I can help you find that secret hideaway and get to him, don't you? I will never betray him. So sit tight. On Devil's Night, the hunt will be coming to you.

Kai: You have no idea what I seek, Little One. You don't know what I had to become to survive three years in prison for a crime I would gladly commit again. I want that hotel, I want to find him, and I want this over. I want my life back. But the more I'm around you, the more I realize this new me is exactly who I was meant to be. So come on, kid. Don't chicken out. My house is on the hill. So many ways in, and good luck finding your way out. I've seen your hideaway. Time to see mine.

I honestly do not know why I have taken so long to get back into this series, I restarted with book 1 and now determined to finish this series. The Hideaway is great. I think there is more intrigue, suspense in this one so far so I can't wait to get into the next. This has some great twists that I didn't see coming at all.

Many would said this book is bad because of the content of the story. Perhaps it's true; however, this is also a love story. the characters were trying to find out who they are through the tough situation. If you like the dark, dangerous, on-the-edge, hot love story, this book is right for you.

Dark and hot

This is the second book in the Devil’s Night series. This is Kai and Banks story. This is not for the faint of heart. This book may contain triggers for some. I loved the connection that they have always had and that it grew when they reconnected. Can’t wait for the next book! Tatiana Sokolov and Jeremy York did a fantastic job narrating this book.

Hideaway by Penelope Douglas
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
This is book #2 in The Devil's Night series. Banks and Kai's story is one of my favorites in this series. I feel as though Kai is so genuinely sweet and good and Banks is just a badass! I loved their characters alone and love them even more together. This is still a dark romance with a grocery list of trigger warnings, but I did like this book more than Corrupt. We get more history of The Four Horsemen in their prime and bring it present day with more suspense, mystery, and shockers! Look for a review of Damon's book soon!
