Publisher's summary

Annie

A loving mother and wife, Annie O'Neill was the heart of the small community of Kiss River. But her generous nature hid a darker side that remained secret for years after her tragic death.

Lacey

When Lacey O'Neill finally learns the shattering truth about the mother she's spent a decade emulating, the foundation of her life begins to crumble. Then her close childhood friend dies, leaving her teenage daughter, Mackenzie, in Lacey's care, and Lacey unwillingly finds herself in the role of mother.

Mackenzie

Uprooted by her mother's death, Mackenzie resents her new home of Kiss River. She wants nothing to do with the father who never knew she existed - and especially not her mother's oldest friend. But the person who could understand her best might be the one she resents most: Lacey.

Critic reviews

"Complex, credible characterization. . . . Even readers who are not already fans will sympathize with the flawed but caring people [Chamberlain] compassionately evokes." ( Publishers Weekly)

Great trilogy

It definetely met my expectations. Is difficult to find a defining moment because there were many. It was a great story and finally I loved every character.

I also liked very much the narrator.

inspiring

This book reminds one to forgive, not forget and how to move on from there. lacey is a very brave young lady but already had to deal with things that most people never go through.

Great end to the trilogy!

Of the three books in this trilogy, this one was definitely the best! I hate that it is over!

Great Trilogy Ending

This book was my favorite of the Lighthouse Trilogy! I loved the characters (again) and how this story gave an ending to the questions in the previous books. Although I thought this narrator did a great job with different voices, I didn't care for the voice of Lacey...I thought it made her sound too young/immature. She still did a great job with the story though. The only thing missing for me was that they never restored the damaged lighthouse, and maybe it's just not realistic to do that. Well done, Diane Chamberlain!

Kiss River Series

I love all of these books. The narration is so good. I used to be a biography and non-fiction lover, but now that I’ve found Diane Chamberlain’s work, I can’t get enough. I’ve listened to five books in a row. Highly recommend this author and narrator.

Great series

This is the last book in this series. I must say, this book was the best. The characters are well developed. The storyline is easy to follow. This book has a surprise at the end that I was definitely not expecting! I recommend this series, but don’t stop reading until the end. Like I said, this book is the best in the series!
