Publisher's Summary
New York Times best-selling author Diane Chamberlain delivers a thrilling, mind-bending audiobook about one mother's journey to save her child.
When Carly Sears, a young woman widowed by the Vietnam War, receives the news that her unborn baby girl has a heart defect, she is devastated. It is 1970, and she is told nothing can be done to help her child. But her brother-in-law, a physicist with a mysterious past, tells her that perhaps there is a way to save her baby.
What he suggests is something that will shatter every preconceived notion Carly has. Something that will require a kind of strength and courage she never knew existed. Something that will mean an unimaginable leap of faith on Carly's part.
And all for the love of her unborn child.
The Dream Daughter is a rich, genre-spanning, breathtaking audiobook about one mother's quest to save her child, unite her family, and believe in the unbelievable. Diane Chamberlain pushes the boundaries of faith and science to deliver a story that listeners will never forget.

Not what I was expecting.
The book description on this title is very vague and doesn’t really tell you about the story you’re getting into. I think, had I read a better fitting description, I might have passed by this gem. If you’re a fan of Diane Chamberlain I can’t recommend this enough. You might have to get a few chapters in to really get the groove of this book, but it’s worth hanging in for. A well told story for people that don’t mind using their imagination while reading, a solid reading by Susan Bennett, and finally an ending I don’t have any complaints about. Let the story surprise you, it’ll be worth your while.

So I never read synopsis before starting a new book. I feel like I lose a little something when I go into a book with expectations. This book was the perfect example for me of why I don't. I can't say I would have picked this one up if I had known it was very different from this authors other books. I have fallen in love with this author over the past month, listening to over 15 of her books so when this one released I knew I needed it and I'll be honest I just assumed it would be like her other books... it's not!
This book is filled with suspense and It's very fast paced. Carly is a women who will do anything to give her child a fighting chance. She is a very strong character but I will admit being in her head was sometimes a little annoying. I loved the details in this book which you will understand when you read it. The ending was beautiful and exactly what I wanted from this story.
The narration was good. Susan Bennett is a great narrator and she did a great job at the high stress, anxious and panic moments for Carly.

Ridiculous Plot Device
Had the summary mentioned that the entire plot hinged on time travel, I would probably never have purchased the book. Well done, time travel can be fun or even great. Diane Chamberlain is no HG Wells.
Beyond the silly plot device, the characters were one dimensional and the story was pure schmaltz. Don’t waste your time or money.

One of the best I’ve ever read!
I have read almost all of Diane Chamberlain’s books. This one I enjoyed particularly for the complex plot that was woven in and out through the different time periods. I also loved the way that you feel Carly’s angst in the choices that she has to make and the lack of control she has. Every little twist was covered so well!!!! I really recommend this book!

What a great story
From the narrator to the Author, this was an amazing story. Although it’s different for Diane Chamberlain it was one of her best works. You can tell a good Author if he or she doesn’t need sex or swearing to make her story believable. The narrator was very good and her inflection and timing were perfect.

Stunning subject matter
I adored the narration and imagery of this book. The subject matter made me groan a bit when I heard what it was, but yet again Diane Chamberlain reeled me in and I was lost in the story. You never know what this writer will do next. Amazing.
