Dax au Telemanus!
I loved Red Rising, so this book had big shoes to fill. It suffered a little from middle book syndrome, too many characters and the none-inclusion of the institute, but overall a very good book. It's no red rising, but we'll see if Morning Star can take up the mantle. Ps the Telemanus family are the best.

A great 2nd book in this series. Picks up a few months after the last one left off so don’t be confused by the new characters, you’ll grow to like them as much as the old set!

Not as good as the first book but enjoyable
Superb narration as usual from T G Reynolds so you don’t lose anything listening to dodgy narrative.
Did find the plot a little obvious and wanting in places but still a v good listen. It still does play big time on sci-fi and the ancient / Roman era with distinctive leanings towards historical and fictional (mythology) intertwined with the racism / caste system and the good old fight for equality and ‘freedom’... The age old fight... Just getting book 3 so we’ll see what this brings... Enjoy!

Better than the first!
I'm enjoying the series for what it is. The characters are generally fun and easy to like or understand. The plot is good but nothing incredible. The world is interesting because it's believable. I will be listening to the next in the series :)

bloody damn incredible
although I doubt anything can top the incredible world setting and increase in scale and quality of the first book, this is gory damn amazing. betrayal, sacrifice, brotherhood, love, war, revenge, it has it all.
must read if you were a fan of the first book and a damn good competitor to the 'game of thrones' style character arcs and writing

really enjoyable, had me sobbing in parts. Can be a tad predictable and convenient times but still very good.
