Publisher's summary

Falling from nobility, Zen Luo became a humble slave and served as a human punchbag for his former cousins. Inadvertently, he found a way to refine himself into a weapon and a legend started because of that. With a strong belief in never surrender, he strove for revenges and pursued big dreams. Warriors from various clans contended for hegemony and the world was stirred. Relying on the body that was comparable to a powerful weapon, Zen beat his numerous enemies on his way to the immortality. Would he succeed eventually?

Loved it!

A wonderful cultivation fantasy novel :) the book is well written and the mc is awesome, the music and the narrator combined make for a wonderful experience. the narrators accent is a perfect match for this book! I’m going to binge listen to all 6 books that are out so fare and I’m sure I’ll be begging for more once I’m done!

Could have been good

In respect to the cultivator story it has the usual goodness of revenge, arrogant nobles, mc finding unkown cultivation method, fighting above his weight class and such. Altough people seem to go out of their way to hate the MC for almost no reason.

This is the first book where background music really fits the story changing depending on the setting. Sad music, upbeat music, fighting music. like that.

The translation has some problems where the sentence is structured wrong or words aren't correctly inflected,

The biggest problem I have with the audiobook is that the narrator struggles a lot with the english language making it difficult to understand.

meh.

the Narrator has a hard time with his H's and L's. The narration is not so bad that you cant understand him but still distracting. I understand this is a translated book but the sentence structure gets all wonky at places. The story so far just seems very middle of the road I dont hate it's just Meh.

Worth a listen even with the terrible narrator

Yep, the narrator is terrible and the music is annoying. However, even with all that, it's a cultivation book worth listening to. If you gut through it, you can tune out the annoying music and TERRIBLE narrator.

Narrator absolute garbage

I couldn't get past the first 30 minutes I dont even know if the book was good or not. Who would allow a narrator with such an extreme accent that can't fully pronounce most words narrate thier book for them? I'm returning this one, might try again if new narrator.

Great book, abysmal audio book.

TLDR: Read the book. Don't listen to the audio book. It is so bad it will make you hate this book, author, producer and incompetent narrator.

I've read this book series through book 60 on Kindle and loved the story. I was waiting for more books to be on Audible before I picked them up. After picking the first two books on Audible I can now definitively state that this absolute pile of garbage will make you hate a great story. Don't think it will get better, book 2 is worse. The narrator is so bad at pronouncing words that about a quarter of the time you have no idea what he said. I hate to say it, but a straight text to speech program is WAY better than the farce of narration done on this book.

The second book compliments an incompetent narrator with having a 15 second intro and outro to every chapter. It sounds like the book was read for a radio broadcast and they just recorded it.

Recall audio immediately

I am a big fan of cultivation novels and was very excited when I read the description of the series so I got it right away but I could only listen to 30 minutes of this audio version before stopping and deleting it from my device the narrator in this book is horrible the worst I’ve ever seen it’s like listening to Jar Jar Binks I would strongly suggest recalling and refunding every audio version of this series and hiring a new narrator
