In 1944, blonde and blue-eyed Jewess Hadassah Benjamin feels abandoned by God when she is saved from a firing squad only to be handed over to a new enemy. Pressed into service by SS Kommandant Colonel Aric von Schmidt at the transit camp of Theresienstadt in Czechoslovakia, she is able to hide behind the false identity of Stella Muller. For Such a Time

A riveting story. The style left a cliffhanger at the end of each chapter. Truly a surprise ending. I don't know which was the happiest moment, Captain Hermann's death or the surprise ending. My God given path of Guardian makes me lean toward Hermann's death, yet I am torn between the two. Kate is a classmate of mine and I love her work dearly.

Esther

I loved how the Book of Esther was woven in and out of this story. The story was beautifully done and the narrator was excellent.

For Such a Time: Definitely Recommend!

This book is probably one of my all time Favorites! If you know the Bible Story of Esther, it’s basically the same thing! I know a lot of people think the a Nazi and Jew should never be together, but for me this story shows how God can truly change the heart of any man! It talks about having faith and trusting that God will provide even in the most helpless situations!
Never underestimate the power of God and what He can do in the lives of even the most evil men! So I definitely recommend give this book a chance, It’s definitely worth it!

Nice WWII parallel to the story of Esther

The breathy heroine's voice got on my last nerve at times. I thought the ending was going to be disappointing but it actually wrapped up nicely (despite too much breathy drama by the narrator). It was a good one-time listen for me.

Do not wear make up while listening to this book.

It was very interesting that you kind of knew somethings that had to happen since it was a modern day Ester story. It was hard and I enjoyed it but don’t wear make up while you’re listening to this book or else it’s like a raccoon. There was one part that made me ugly cry. But after I finish the book, I was so grateful to God for all day has given me all day. He has brought me through this. Wonderful book.
