Publisher's summary

The city of Celum is not much like Liscor at all. While Erin is surrounded by familiar, human faces, she’s far from home and without her inn.

At the same time, a certain ill-tempered Lyonette is squatting in Erin’s inn, and Goblins are on the move. The Goblin Lord’s threat reaches across the entire region, and the Redfang tribe has rallied against him with the Floodplains tribe, although their Chieftains do not agree on some crucial matters....

The continent of Izril is rife with change as a young man named Laken Godart finds himself lost like all the others. Being naturally blind does not increase his odds of survival, either, but with luck, he might survive the winter.

This winter, there is only snow, Goblins, magic, and iambic pentameter.

I love this series though a bit too many POV changes

I love this series, that said I am roughly a third of the way through this book at the moment and have one complaint.

I am getting a bit annoyed by all the different POV chapters. It seems every time I started to really get into one of the characters storylines it will change to another characters POV.

Now don’t get me wrong each POV is at least 3 or 4 chapters minimum but still it can get a bit difficult to keep up with the various storylines. I personally love the story so far but would just have really appreciated it with less POVs.

Good Listen

Starting as a very good "listen", in Book 1, the series continues to improve. Plotting is intricate, writing good and holds your interest. Looking forward to Book 4 when it is finished.

Like the serials of old, with a great author!

This is a god send. Do to eye problems I cannot read for long periods. Thus story is loooonnnmggg and great. It reminds me of snippets that great Authors use to write in magazines, these led to the cliffhanger series of the radio days.

Great great great!

Love love love this series

I listen to audiobooks while at work. And oh I am always overjoyed every time a new book from this series comes out. This is because I know that I can be treated to a long series of interweaving storylines and character arcs that are so well-developed but still leave so much for future development.
I also really appreciate the fact that this series does not rely on obscenity or sexuality to tell a story so I feel like it is safe for my daughter to one day read or , listen to. The realistic way that the narrator views the violence that is inherent in an RPG world is refreshing as it does not see a strictly black and white dichotomy between good and evil but rather a dichotomy between society and nature.
While I could probably go on for sometime I will keep this brief. If you are looking for a longer format audiobook something that you can really enjoy and relax into I would highly recommend this book and it’s previous series because the narration is well done the storyline is excellent the characters are enjoyable and you end up feeling a very strong attachment to them as well as seemingly unimportant characters end up with significant storylines that you would not necessarily expect.
All in all a highly recommend listening to this book and a and of course looking forward to the next installment and will order or pre-order as soon as that option becomes available.

Wonderful book, wonderful series!

Yeah, this gamelit story is still mostly following two women (Erin Solstice and Ryoka Griffin) who've been trapped in this universe since the beginning of the series... but The Wandering Inn: Flowers of Esthelm is a much bigger tale than that!  It follows many different points-of-view, stopping every once in a while to add a new character who also finds themselves also trapped in this game "like" world! But don't think of it as a hodgepodge, it's not that at all! It's actually quite spellbinding and feels very organic in nature, rather than something contrived.
Erin Solstice somehow manages to make something good out of misfortune, she sparks up a room, galvanizing everyone she comes in contact with! And Erin's best friend is Ryoka Griffin, an introvert, a genius, and someone who's super cautious, with serious trust issues! The two women from earth are trying to navigate their way through this strange new world, and they're as different from each other as sunshine and storm clouds... Erin is a more infectious "Winnie-the-Pooh" to Ryoka's "Eeyore", but just as in AA Milne's stories, the friendship works! I also enjoyed the new characters that pirateabe injected into the tale! Emperor Lakin, the Doctor, and yes even the Monster's tale!
Though the story is available free on pirateabe blog why would you bother when an excellent audio version is available?!?  Andrea Parsneau's narration is Spot-Freaking-On, revealing all the delicacies pirateabe has cooked up!! And I for one can't wait to get book 4, "Winter Solstice".
