A fun story worth listening to

The book was fun for sure, but; in my opinion, had a slow start. I do feel that I should say, this is not a fanfic of Elon Musk. That sounds like an odd thing to say, but the opening make me think it was and I almost dropped the book because of it. once your around chapter 4-5 things start to pick up and the book becomes a fun listen.

If you enjoy the lit-rpg genre then there's no reason you shouldn't enjoy this book.

It will probably get better

The book itself wasn’t bad at all, I just thought it was a bit slow, the narrator sounded a bit sleepy during the book and that made it seem like it wasn’t picking up. I know this is not a “THE LAND” but I think it will get better.

Great 1st book... the 2nd's even better!

Don't cha just hate a good 1st book of a series, then realize it goes downhill from there? NOT IN THIS CASE! :)
I love the follow-up so much that I wrote a review for it; now going back to comment on first. Here's what you can look forward to after this excellent #1:

I could write paragraphs, but here's what you need to know:
+ Even better than the 1st.
+ Joe's progression is so very interesting & he's such a likable character.
+ RPG stats with levels, skills, abilities, weapons, armor, items, etc.
+ Wonderfully quirky supporting cast.
+ Magic, spells, rituals, mana, & more magic!
+ Hidden stuff, quests, unique locations, boss fights, divine interaction...
+ "Snarky" A.I.
+ Epic, yet unexpected ending.
+ Good storyline closures, and still leaving you yearning for 'whats next?'
+ Outstanding narration.

- I love rpg stats, but... reviewing too frequently.
- You could make a drinking game from the ridiculous number of times the author wrote, "... rolled their eyes ..." ]

Slow to start , gets truly amazing. I can't wait to see Joe fight in dungeon...😉. maybe next book!

wonderful read

this book will leave you wanting more I cannot wait until the next one comes out. as soon as it does I will be the first one to buy it. the leveling system is amazing and the complexity of it is amazing. the whole premise behind the book is a cool and unique perspective on a full dive virtual reality. I love how there are similarities between the dungeon born Series and this. hope he creates many more books in both series. I am a full support of this author and more than likely any books and series that he creates in the future.

Campy, but fun.

Hard to start, bad dialogue, but fascinating world and a great story. Pretty good narrator.

Good story, fun. but skip the prologue

this was a fun book, and seems to be a fun series, but boy the start seemed like a rail road d&d story hook that was thrown in after the fact to just get the reader to the point where the real story begins.

and don't even ask what that elon musk crap was. just skip it.

Phenomenal book, 10/10 would recommend.

The story got through the setup quickly which I enjoyed and then progressed extremely well. Loved the way the main character has OP skills that actually take effort to gain while being physically frail, felt very balanced. I found myself getting emotionally invested in the supporting characters as well as the main. The author is very talented and I can't wait to read more of their work.

this is an amazing book. I look forward to the next book in the series. I also really want to play this RPG.

What a jewel this is!

It takes a sec, but this book really is amazing! The main character is me when I played my first mmo back in the day. I was so sad I ran out of chapters to hear. Definitely looking forward to the next book!
