For a boy coming of age and discovering a magical self-reliance and new powers for every occasion, the future is in the cards, in this fantasy adventure.

Arthur lives with his father, a fallen but proud former noble, in Border Village #49, along with the other good folks condemned to toil in service to the Baron. But Arthur has an edge: a stolen heart card that secretly fell into his possession, thanks to a dragon. It’s a priceless source of power for the Baron and the tyrant will kill to get it back. Invaluable, too, to a young man of spellcasting ambitions.

So, at the behest of his father—and to save his own hide—Arthur flees and joins a trader caravan on the kingdom’s backroads. Mile by dusty mile, he gains new skills and learns more about his increasing capabilities. But when he meets Horatio, his sharp-tongued new best friend and a spell card collector himself, Arthur discovers the greater powers to come by building on the Legendary card hidden close to his heart.

One step ahead of the Baron’s hunters, Arthur and Horatio forge on under a sky full of guardian dragons—from the adorably loopy to the mystically wise—and their unflappable riders. Amidst danger, rescue, and friendships with both humans and those creatures of the more leathery variety, Arthur awakens to a newfound confidence . . . and the extraordinary things that can arise from the simplest magics.

Reseñas de la Crítica

“Honour Rae’s All the Skills has everything I love: great writing, an intriguing mystery, and badass dragons. Well, some of them are badass. Some are dweebs, and that makes it even more awesome. And the audio is some of Luke Daniels’s finest work.” —Matt Dinniman, bestselling author of Dungeon Crawler Carl

Fun, unique, and a great find in the heavily oversaturated market of game-style fantasy literature. I enjoy the magic system, and I am always a sucker for dragons. Having read ahead on Patreon, I can confidently say the story only gets better. Looking forward to more!

Fun, unique, and stands out within a crowded genre

Liked the MC, liked the system of magic, like the society and world building. The audio was fantastic although Horacio’s voice surprised me some. Looking forward to the continuation of this series

This story was written very well. However one of the common trends among writers these days is to make their MC do stupid things much more stupid than commonly natural. This was the only thing that really bothered me in this story and caused me to want to make a review about it. So any potential readers beware. Other than this problem this would be a five-star story

This is a good story

All the Skills by Honor Rae is a fantastic book that combines exciting gameplay mechanics with an engaging storyline. The book features Arthur, a young boy who discovers he can learn new skills by touching objects. The story is filled with adventure, action, and drama, which makes for a gripping read.

The narration by Luke Daniels is excellent, and he does a fantastic job of bringing the characters to life. However, the deepness of his voice for the character of Horatio made it hard to connect with him, which was a downside to the audiobook.

The heart decks and the idea of skill cards are a unique and innovative concept that adds depth to the storytelling. The crafting component is also a great addition, and it adds to the sense of adventure and excitement.

Overall, All the Skills is an excellent deck building lit RPG that is well worth the read. The gameplay mechanics are well thought out, and the storyline is engaging, making it an immersive experience. Despite the disconnect with the character of Horatio, Luke Daniels' narration is still top-notch, making for an enjoyable audiobook experience.

I bought this as something to use a credit for before they expired and got to say this was better than I though, when I first head the starting chapters and hearing the MC will be 12 I was worried as I tend not to like children MC as they are annoying imo, although most of the book was his view from 12 and then 15. The MC is not that bad and it was great world building and the system it uses is new to me and I liked it quite a bit more than I thought I would

Surprisingly good

I write this review after listening to the 2nd book. I bought the first book due to the idea of a card based LitRPG. I found it to be an interesting take on the genre.

This first book helps build a small portion of the world, how the world works, and the main character. The two reasons this is 4 star(story) is that the second book is that much better, and something more could have happened. A bit more action is all I can say it lacked. I really got a sense that the author got a firm gasp on the plot in the second book.

The 2nd book starts to shape society and the world even more. This book gets better and better! It introduces new characters that are enjoyable and helps push the story forward at a good pace.

I don't usually leave reviews. In fact, this might be my first one. I want the author to know you have gained a fan. I look forward to future stories.

This series is shaping up to be fantastic!
