Publisher's Summary

From the #1 New York Times best-selling author comes a revised, repackaged novel sure to please her many fans. She writes "high speed comic mayhem" (Detroit Free Press); she's "a blast of fresh air" (Washington Post); "side-splitting funny" (Publishers Weekly) and "a winner" (Glamour). In other words, she's Janet Evanovich.

Berry Knudson had a talent for disaster, but when she climbed a tree to rescue a kitten, she wasn't prepared for the scrumptious hunk undressing in a nearby window, or her dive downward that smashed Jake Sawyer's pizza and won his heart! But was there room in her chaotic schedule for a risk-taking inventor with dreams? She took classes, delivered pizzas, and cared for three eccentric old ladies she rescued from the train station. But Jake thrived on a challenge, and he could be very inventive. Could he teach her there was time to make butterscotch pudding and let herself be loved?

AUG! Enough already

I am amazed that I had the patience to finish the book...maybe just not the opportunity to go grab a different one for my player.
The heroine is not likable and the hero simply not worth winning. There was a point where I just wanted it over with.

Save your money and time.

The plot is predictable, but it could be a fluff listen if the reader were not so TERRIBLE. I still have two thirds of the book left, but she is so bad I will move onto something else.

Always love Janet Evanovich

I have read all of Janet Evanovich's mystery type books and decided that this weekend I needed something super light and funny. What a great choice!

It was cute and not at all serious. Exactly what I needed! I can always count on the characters and story to give me a smile.

Probably the worst love story I've ever heard!!

Very cheesy, highly unrealistic and totally unbelievable. Sorry Janet, I love your books but this is probably your worst!

TRULY TERRIBLE

...and that's probably an understatement. I thought I couldn't go wrong with Janet Evanovich for some light hearted amusement. I was wrong. There was nothing good about the story line or the writing. "Berry" was annoying and "Jake" was nauseating, a perfect example of the guy who doesn't understand that no means no.
The only fun characters (the old ladies) were completely under developed, almost as if they were a last minute idea.
Even the narration by CJ Critt (whom I usually like) was awful. Probably because she had such awful material to work with.

Cute & Predictable

It was a cute read but a little predictable with boy meets girl and happily ever after......Ok for a feel good little read.

Great Easy Read/Listen

Would you consider the audio edition of The Grand Finale to be better than the print version?

I love listening to CJ Critt, so I definetly think that the audio version is better than the print version. She is so talented, I even

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Grand Finale?

I love the roles of the old ladies. They made the book!

Have you listened to any of C. J. Critt’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

YES! I have listened to her do several of the Stephanie Plum series, so I was thrilled when I heard her on this book as well! She did fantastic! I am partial to how she does the Plum series because she has so many characters to do and does their voices so well!

I love when C. J. Critt narrates

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes. The story is light, funny, and entertaining.

What did you like best about this story?

The male characters are sexy, but are very respectful. And, just about everyone has a quirky, but funny, personality. No one is judgement. Everything is kept is a humorous manner.

What about C. J. Critt’s performance did you like?

Her voice is perfect for the location described by the book. She has distinctly different voices for the male and female characters....much more variation than the woman who reads some of the other books by the author.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No, that's is what I enjoyed about the book, and Janet Evanovich's other books. I can listen to them while I shop, clean house, and cook, and stay entertained, but can put them down and pick them back up and enjoy them just as much several days later.

Any additional comments?

I think I have listened to just about all of Janet Evanovich's books and liked them so much that I wish a producer would turn them into a movie series.

Raving about "The Grand Finale"

Loved it!

The characters were so well described it was easy to visualize them down to their mannerisms.
