Story
Most of the big money belongs to Torquil Paterson Frisby, the dyspeptic American millionaire--but that doesn't stop him wanting more out of it. His niece, the beautiful Ann Moon, is engaged to "Biscuit", Lord Biskerton, who doesn't have very much of the stuff and so he has to escape to Valley Fields to hide from his creditors. Meanwhile, his old school friend Berry Conway, who is working for Frisby, himself falls for Ann--just as Biscuit falls for her friend Kitchie Valentine. Life in the world of Wodehouse can sometimes become a little complicated.

Unfortunately, her reform project started at a time when Jim had fallen in love and had already decided to reform himself. Thus, life became complicated. Jim pretends to be himself - a beautiful display of Wodehousean logic; hilarious indeed!

Story
Uncle Fred, or to give him his full title of Frederick Altamont Cornwallis Twistleton, fifth Earl of Ickenham, is considered by some as a splendid gentleman - a sportsman to his fingertips. Mr. Twistleton, nephew to the Earl, and otherwise known as Pongo to his friends, has a differing view. He simply describes his uncle as being loopy to the tonsils. But when the eccentric and well-loved Uncle Fred plays Cupid to Lord Emsworth, his old friend at Blandings Castle, little did he know that he would be known as Impostor A and the Lord’s beloved pig, the Empress, as Impostor B....

Story
We find ourselves in the austerity of the 1950s, when England's aristocracy was feeling the pinch. Bertie Wooster has gone to a residential self-help school to learn how to darn his socks. Until he re-emerges, Jeeves has signed up with Bill Rowcester (pronounced Roaster), an earl who is failing to make ends meet in trade, and yearning to sell his stately home, which has charm and damp in equal measure. In his new environment Jeeves is required to exert his mammoth brain to what would be breaking point for any normal intellect.

Myrna, Leonie, and Chrissy meet every Thursday to sample fine cheeses, to reminisce about their former lives as professors, and lately, to muse about murder. Decades ago, a vicious cabal of male poets contrived—quite publicly and successfully—to undermine the writing career, confidence, and health of their dear friend Fern. Now, after Fern has taken a turn for the worse, her three old friends decide that it’s finally time to strike back—in secret, of course, since Fern is far too gentle to approve of a vendetta.

Hilarious, fascinating, and a roller coaster of dizzying, historical what-ifs, Napoleon's Hemorrhoids is a potpourri for serious historians and casual history buffs. In one of Phil Mason's many revelations, you'll learn that Communist jets were two minutes away from opening fire on American planes during the Cuban missile crisis, when they had to turn back as they were running out of fuel. You'll discover that before the Battle of Waterloo, Napoleon's painful hemorrhoids prevented him from mounting his horse to survey the battlefield.

Story
“The Heron” is the nickname a big-city accountant has attached to himself in his new home near San Diego, where he’s using the alias to avoid a hit man who may be after him. It seems a former client believes that The Heron has skipped town with several million dollars not his own. Don Winslow’s ensuing, entertaining yarn is by turns twisty, dark, and comical as we observe the delicate dance between the pursuer and the pursued.

Best book and best narrator
This book was published during the peak of Beatlemania and I imagine some cross influence in the book lyrics or phrasing.
It also seems to be an encore or “best of” performance reminiscent of many prior Blandings escapades that seem recent past but were written over two World Wars earlier. (Did 1960’s British bobbies commonly ride bicycles on patrol? Would a messenger carry a letter for sixpence when a 45 rpm record cost 12 times as much? Did Lord Emsworth sail back from America or did he fly?)
I say this is PGW’s best book because it’s the one I just heard. I almost always feel that way about a Blandings or Jeeves book when I first finish. And Jonathan Cecil is often the best narrator but I give Jeremy the nod for his subtlety. PG has hundreds of clever phrases here and other narrators were better at drawing attention to such, Mr Sinden forced me to listen closer and consciously which enriched the experience.

One of the best comic novels of all time
Blandings Castle must feel that something is not quite right with the world when there isn't at least one imposter residing within its walls. Luckily, here we have not only someone posing as the author of Lord Emsworth's favorite pig book, but we have drunk pigs, angry aunts, befuddled peers, and broken hearts which must be mended. Thank goodness Galahad Threepwood is on hand to steer everyone to a happy ending! This book has everything you expect from a P.G. Wodehouse novel, and may be his best book of all time.

Galahad at His Best
Though a late production (1965), this is a worthy addition to the Blandings saga that began way back in 1915. In the face of problems knottier than a macrame plant hanger, that ingenious, slightly dubious character Gally Threepwood manages to find happy endings for everyone—except, of course, his sister Lady Hermione. And Jeremy Sinden’s performance makes you wish he’d recorded more Wodehouse than he did.

Not up to P. G.’s usual form
Wodehouse’s character Galahad Threepwood is the one who binds together the diverse threads and vignettes of this book, but the cloth the author weaves is pretty weak pile. All the usual Wodehouse gags and gimmicks are here: they just don’t work the same magic, as the characters (other than Galahad) don’t earn our affection.
