ABOUT THIS AUDIBLE ORIGINAL
Please note: This content is not for kids. It is for mature audiences only. This audio comedy features sexual content, adult language and themes, and violence against peasants and hobgoblins alike. Discretion is advised.
Heads Will Roll is an Audible Original from Saturday Night Live star Kate McKinnon and her cocreator/costar (and real-life sister) Emily Lynne. Produced by Broadway Video, this is not an audiobook - it’s a 10-episode, star-studded audio comedy that features performances from Meryl Streep, Tim Gunn, Peter Dinklage, Queer Eye’s Fab Five, and so many more.
Queen Mortuana of the Night Realm (McKinnon) and her ditsy raven minion JoJo (Lynne) receive a prophecy about a peasant uprising. Together, they must journey to find the “Shard of Acquiescence”, which will put down the rebellion and save the throne. Will their friendship survive sensitive generals, chatty sex slaves, whiny behemoths, princes with bird fetishes, and the notion of democracy?
This raunchy satire also includes the wicked talents of Andrea Martin, Carol Kane, Audra McDonald, Aidy Bryant, Alex Moffat, Heidi Gardner, Chris Redd, Steve Higgins, Bob the Drag Queen, Esther Perel, and more. So, hold on to your head, and let the bad times roll.

Story
In sports, everybody loves redemption stories, the underdog who no one believes in but through sheer hard work wins it all. But no one tells the stories of the players who work hard and don’t make it. In pro football, 53 guys get on the roster. Ten make it to the practice squad. And then there’s the 64th Man - that’s Billy Logan (Cena), who seems to always be one spot from glory.

Story
Samantha is a professional seductress and con artist with a heart of gold. If she talked about her work, she’d tell you she only pilfers organs for medical research and that she only takes one kidney, and she only steals those kidneys from dishonest people. It’s hell on her social life. Abe is the doctor and Sam's partner in crime. He isn’t much of a criminal. Except for the kidney stealing. But he’s using that money to fund his research that he anticipates will be able to cure diabetes. So, all for a good cause...? You decide. Of course, it's hell on his social life.

Story
The tide is turning against the colonists in the Revolutionary War, and 18-year-old Elizabeth Morris cannot sit by idly. Quietly disdainful of her Tory parents, who drag her along to society events and welcome a British soldier into their home during their occupation of New York City, Elizabeth decides to take matters into her own hands. She realizes that, as a young woman, no one around her believes that she can comprehend the profound implications of being a nation at war - she is, effectively, invisible. And she can use this invisibility to her advantage.

If there’s one trait that makes someone well-suited to comedy, it’s being able to take a punch - metaphorically and, occasionally, physically. Told with a healthy dose of self-deprecation, A Very Punchable Face reveals the brilliant mind behind some of the dumbest sketches on television, and lays bare the heart and humor of a hardworking guy - with a face you can’t help but want to punch.

Hi! I’m Seth! I was asked to describe my audiobook, Yearbook for websites and shit like that, so...here it goes!!! Yearbook is a collection of true stories that I desperately hope are just funny at worst, and life-changingly amazing at best. (I understand that it’s likely the former, which is a fancy “book” way of saying “the first one.”) I talk about my grandparents, doing stand-up comedy as a teenager, bar mitzvahs, and Jewish summer camp, and tell way more stories about doing drugs than my mother would like.

At last, the full story behind Megan Mullally and Nick Offerman's epic romance, including stories, portraits, and the occasional puzzle. How did they do it? They came from completely different families, endured a significant age difference, and were separated by the gulf of several social strata. Megan loved books and art history; Nick loved hammers. But much more than these seemingly unsurpassable obstacles were the values they held in common: respect, decency, the ability to mention genitalia in almost any context, and an abiding obsession with the songs of Tom Waits.

Must live in a green friendly place for this
Seriously. This is neither a statement for or against this particular title, just a straight fact. I started listening to this at first without my medication and was just kind of "meh" about it-- lots of pop culture references I don't particularly care about or find amusing for a variety of reasons. I found it a tad disappointing given all the talent involved.
But then I had a high pain day and decided to listen to more after medication. OMG, what a difference! I was dying-- I literally have not laughed that hard in years! I particularly enjoyed a lot of the bird-related jokes.
So take that for what you will. Definitely an adult title. A bit trite, but hilarious given the right circumstances.

Probably has at least something for everyone
It’s kind of all over the place. There are surely some funny moments to suit different tastes, the songs are entertaining, and the celebrity narrators are fun.
But there are lots of volume issues. It quickly goes from too loud to barely audible in quite a few places. I think I like the idea of the production better than its execution. Kate McKinnon and Tim Gunn did a really good job, but some of the other characters are quite grating. So I enjoyed parts of it, and was disappointed in others. But I think most people who are fans of Kate McKinnon will enjoy at least some of this production, so maybe give it a try if you’re willing to go along on a bumpy ride.

SouthPark meets The Office at Medieval Times!
You can tell the All-Star cast had a blast creating this one! In between embarrassing laugh out loud moments (elliptical neighbors at the gym were ready to commit me!) and relishing the fresh, irreverent, and witty script, you start to realize that the storyline is a satire on modern work culture — and then you can’t stop listening! Hysterical and an easy, fast listen, Heads Will Roll makes for a fun and relaxing break in the day.

It's like an old school radio drama for a 2019 comedy audience. Great concept. The writing is funny and the story captivating. My first experience of Emily Lynne. Does she sing professionally? She should. I'd buy that album. Can we get more celebrities doing this sort of thing? Always a delight to get new Kate and Aidy content. Cheers!

Not my thing, but it might be yours!
This audiobook is an excellent reminder that humor is subjective.
I'd like to start out by saying that there's a lot to like about this book. The voice acting is largely well done, some of the jokes are genuinely funny, and a couple of characters are so well written that they shine in every scene they're in. That said though, I found the rest of this book pretty painful to get through - I'm not a huge fan of awkward, cringey humor and this book is, for the most part, full of awkward cringey humor. I was able to make it through about 75% of the audiobook before I finally threw in the towel and requested my credit to be refunded.
If you're the sort of person that's a fan of this style of humor, I think you'll absolutely love this book - save your hard earned money/credits otherwise.

I demand that Audible instantiate a sixth star
I knew going in that this thing would be awesome. Some comedic actors have a direct link to my funny bone: Kate McKinnon is the living embodiment of my funny bone.
But this is far from being a one woman show. Emily Lynne took me to that wow place, especially with the singing: Ah, the singing.
Clever and witty, and brought to life in vivid colours through the talented voice work of an amazing cast, and the overall audio production is superb.
Seriously Audible, I need 6 stars.

I loved it enough to write my first review!
The first few minutes is kind of a shock, because it’s like nothing you’ve heard before, but don’t let that turn you off, keep listening!
It’s different, definitely, but that’s what makes it so fantastic. I wouldn’t expect anything different from the mind of Kate McKinnon (and it must be a family trait because The co-creator Emily Lynne is fantastic!) Heads will roll intertwines historic tyranny with our modern version. I can’t wait for more!

All stars for these all stars
This show is absolutely hilarious! It combines the SNL-style humor we know from Kate McKinnon with an all-star cast of actors to create this joyous radio play! The pleasant switches from famour stars like tim Gunn and Meryl Streep to the friends & SNL co-stars like Aidy Bryant and Alex Moffat bring the story to life even more, and Emily Lynne SHINES and manages to keep up with her sister with ease, proving herself a star in her own right. The songs are a joy as well, and I’m hoping they’ll be released on Spotify at some point in the near future.

Don't get this at all!
I have given up after just two chapters. I don't understand the humour, and there doesn't seem to be a plot. Or characters. Just rude stuff for the sake of it. Disappointed.

Not for me
Struggled from the outset. Just annoyed me, couldn't get into the story or reason. Wouldn't recommend

Funny!
Love Kate McKinnon, big fan, and so to hear her with her sister in this was epic, great story, really funny, great message, and the work you can tell they put it into it was well worth it, they work really well with each other, hope there's going to be another one

Spat my coffee out laughing. RIP coffee.
Bizzare. Engaging. Hilarious. The comedic timing delivered by Kate Mckinnon is spot on. The writing is great, story bizzare and hilarious, the Queen makes me laugh every scene.

Hilarious
Very American. Nonetheless very funny. Highly recommended although be warned it’s for adults only. You can’t tell when an f-bomb (or worse) is going to drop.

Brilliant!! 😂
I've never listened to an audio play like this before, but this was the perfect one to start with. It was so freaking hilarious!! Quite a bit of swearing and raunch, if you don't like SNL type humour steer clear, the rest of you will LOVE it! I went my pants laughing and I will definitely listen again. Telling all my friends about this...

Hold on to your head
Heads Will Roll is an Audible Original from Saturday Night Live star Kate McKinnon and her co-creator/co-star (and real-life sister) Emily Lynne. Produced by Broadway Video, this is not an audiobook—it’s a 10-episode, star-studded, audio comedy that features performances from a truly all-star cast. In McKinnon’s words, "I always wanted to do something about a Maleficent-style evil queen, who’s having a little bit of a crisis of conscience or wondering if she really wants to be in charge or not."
