Recovery, Redemption, Reconciliation and Hope

What a gem this book was to listen to! I was pulled into the story from the very beginning. I thought the author wrote a very realistic book about addiction and how it effects so much. The choices one makes really come into play. This story has so many facets from the addiction, recovery, reconciliation, redemption, hope, love, and forgiveness. I thought the author did a good job with interspersing their beliefs that prayer and believing in God does exist. I thought the narrator did an excellent job with conveying the emotions and had distinguishable voices for the various characters. I requested this review copy audiobook and was provided it by the author, narrator, and/or publisher and have voluntarily written this review. I will definitely listen to more books by both. The imagery the author wrote in this book was well done and the story was original and inspirational.

Wonderful Book!

After reading so many books, one can often predict the outcome of storylines in the first chapter. I kept thinking I could do the same with this book. But I was wrong. Not only did it take twists and turns throughout the book, but I could not stop thinkingabout it even when not listening to the book. I’ve never had an alcohol or drug problem but I found myself relating to Natalie’s problems as if I understood. I recommend this book to all. Wonderful book!

Forgiving Natalie

Forgiving Natalie
By: Kristin Noel Fischer

This novel jerked at my heartstrings as I listened. So many issues were involved because of individual choices. I found myself in tears several times, and rooting for the protagonists to succussed all the way thru. I would like to hear of a sequel to this book.

The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed. Rebecca Rush made every bit of the story touch the heart.

Forgiveness and Second chances

This was a great story. I loved how the story progressed. The message of forgiveness and redemption is clearly seen throughout the book. I could relate to the characters. They had a depth to them that made them real. The narrator did an excellent job of keeping the characters separate. I recommend this to anyone that has fallen and has tried to pull themselves back up again. This book had a lot of heart and I highly recommend it.

Another great listen from Kristin Noel Fischer

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes!! This is the second book I've listened to by Fischer. Both Jillian's Promise and Forgiving Natalie are very enjoyable listens. I've recommended them to my family, and my daughters listened to some of Forgiving Natalie in the car when I just couldn't press the stop button. They really liked the parts they listened to. The dialogue is realistic and often laugh out loud funny.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Forgiving Natalie?

I think the book started out great, with Natalie and her son Dash arriving in San Francisco, where Natalie plans to have Dash meet his father for the first time. Natalie has been convicted of some kind of crime, and her plan is to introduce father and son then return to Chicago where she will turn herself into the authorities and serve her time. I was immediately hooked!

What does Rebecca Rush bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

These days I listen to books more often than I read them. I think I would have enjoyed either format, but Rebecca Rush is convincing as the main characters. For most of the book, I didn't notice she was there. I was just immersed in the story. Both her male and her female voices sound authentic. Young Dash's voice is great and charming. The grandfather's voice was a little goofy, but he hardly speaks in the book.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Selfless love for a child can change a person's life.

Any additional comments?

Forgiving Natalie is a Christian contemporary romance. Part of why I loved this book was the suspense. It begins with a mother who has committed a crime, but the reader doesn't learn right away what that crime is. Natalie is a likeable character. What choices brought her to this point? I think even people who haven't made similar choices will be familiar with Natalie's thought processes, the way she justifies her actions. I think it's a book that would be helpful for teens to listen to. Although it's a romance, it's very clean. And even though I enjoyed the suspense, I wouldn't hesitate to listen to Forgiving Natalie again if my daughters wanted to listen to the entire book.

I would highly recommend Forgiving Natalie to anyone who enjoys contemporary Christian romance. I would also recommend Fischer's Jillian's Promise, which is about a divorced couple who gets a second chance when the husband gets amnesia and wakes up forgetting he and his wife are divorced.

I was given a free copy of Forgiving Natalie in exchange for an honest review.

Wow

I was hooked from the opening page. What a fantastic book. It was engaging, entertaining, raw, suspenseful and romantic. It was squeaky clean with no smut or swearing. The book alternated between flashbacks and present day story telling. It worked wonderfully, giving me several little cliffhangers. Seriously, this was a great book.

The narrator did a great job. I felt like she nailed the voices and various moods.

Be prepared for an emotional journey

This book made me cry so many times. The choices and consequences and just the humanness of this listen kept my emotions on high alert.

You know from the title and the opening paragraph that Natalie did something wrong and was in need of redemption. The countdown to that redemption was mixed in with flashbacks of her relationship with Gage, the main love interest. From start to finish, this story was incredibly well-written with every aspect reading true.

The narrator was a good choice. She handled both the male and female voices without either sounding fake or forced, and delivered on the emotion.

If you are ready to experience this story, don't forget to keep the tissues handy.
