Editorial reviews

Paging Dr. Love? Fated Love tells the story of two beautiful women - both skilled doctors in a Philadelphia emergency room - who don’t realize they’re falling in love with each other until they’re beyond a cure. Author Radclyffe shows off her gift for crafting believable characters and then throwing them into challenging situations in this smart medical romance. Her two heroines are dedicated, admirable characters who glimpse a future in each other that the losses in their pasts had made them think was impossible. The nuance and depth Abby Craden brings to these characters will keep them in your head long after the audiobook has ended.

Publisher's summary

What do you do when your carefully planned life takes a wrong turn into hell? When Quinn Maguire, a dashing young trauma surgeon, unaccountably accepts a position as an ER physician, her new boss, Honor Blake, suspects that Quinn is hiding a dark secret. While the two declare an uneasy truce in an effort to work together, both struggle with mutual, and unexpected, attraction.

Honor, however, has more than one reason to resist her growing feelings for the attractive newcomer - not the least of which is that her heart belongs to the woman whose wedding ring she wears. Amidst the chaos and drama of a busy emergency room, Quinn and Honor must contend not only with the fragile nature of life, but also with the mysteries of the heart and the irresistible forces of fate.

It was good but not the best

I did enjoy this book but in all I would have chosen something else. A lot of the story felt very predictable and the characters could be very dramatic at times. I also didn't like the overuse of the word Lover which made the relationships feel informal.

Enjoyed it very much

This was my first Radcliffe book. I am a straight middle aged woman. I was thoroughly entertained by all the strong intelligent women portrayed in the storyline.

Heartbreaking, heartwarming.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would, this is a great story. You always want to know more... you can easily identify with each other the women in the story. The feel and tone of the book is real, this could be you or it could be me and the mystery behind each women is true to how we lead our lives. I bought this book on 11/6/14 and today is 11/27/14 and I have listened to it 4 times, it is just a beautiful story.

What other book might you compare Fated Love to and why?

I do not compare books to each other each book offers something new so to compare is unfair. I would say this is very much a Radclyffe novel and I personally love her novels so I guess, I would compare it to that. If you want to compare it to another author i think this is a little similar to some of Nicholas Sparks books just gay.

What does Abby Craden bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I typically do not like Abby Craden, I find her that she tries to voice the "butch" character of the story and to me it sounds like no woman I have ever met. Just because a woman is "butch" doesn't mean she sounds like a man. I will say in this story, maybe because Quinn isn't really that "butch" she didn't do it very much, so I enjoyed her doing this story. I own the entire honor series where Craden is the narrator as well and I think it is a large part of the reason why it is my least favorite series.

Who was the most memorable character of Fated Love and why?

Quinn completely she is like a dream woman. Smart, kind, gentle, knowing. The way she is portrayed in the book I do not think you can read it and not fall in love with her. At least I didn't.

Any additional comments?

Even though Craden is the narrator of the story still listen, its really a great book.
