Publisher's summary

When Marsha Calloway's daughter is accused of a crime she didn't commit, Marsha is determined to find the real culprit. She enlists the help of her Cadillac-driving mama, the man who ditched Marsha at her high-school graduation but kept her heart, and a bumbling police officer. Folks around River Valley are having things disappear while they are sleeping with their eyes open. Seems everyone has a dream and not enough funds. Someone is determined to kill for that dream. Will River Valley's cast of colorful characters live to see another day? Can Marsha find out who the thief is before she becomes one of the sleepwalkers?

Mars Bar, M & Ms, & Lots of Cookies

Fun, lighthearted, and clean murder mystery in the small town of River Valley, Arkansas, where everybody knows their neighbor . . . or do they . . . really? Seems that everyone has gotten money hungry as of late . . . and things, including cash have gone missing . . . then, next thing you know, one of the them, Sharon, has accused Marsha's teenage daughter, Lindsey of stealing her necklace . . . things escalate until Sharon takes out a restraining order . . .then a few days later takes a terrible fall in her home . . . and dies . . . or is it murder? Widowed Marsha . . . aka Mars Bar . . . and her daughter, Lindsey have been living with her mother Gertie Calloway since her husband (Lindsey's father) was killed in a car accident years earlier . . . her mother, also widowed since Marsha was a girl, welcomed the two . . . together the three run a little craft business, Gifts from Country Heaven . . . Marsha is feisty, just like she was in high school, although she's 34 years old now . . .and she is an amateur sleuth in search of the thief . . . and maybe murderer . . . at her side is her high school sweetheart, Duane . . . and brother of her late husband . . . who left her heartbroken just after graduation . . . this is a sweet story . . . filled with funny twists and turns, it hits a chord with those of us who remember our younger days of teenage hope and heartbreak . . . and it gives new hope and redemption to the hurting . . . I've already downloaded the next in the series . . .

Deadly neighbors

This book was entertaining, a bit silly sometimes but I spent a nice afternoon reading it.

poor quality narration

I was very disappointed in the quality of the narration of this book. I was unable to get the correct speed to make it not sound like a robot. It repeated several lines twice and overall just took away from the quality of the story.

Ok but needs work.

The story is cute and typical of cozy mysteries. The Narrator needs to work on delivery of content and practice voices. Poor narration.

Almost couldn't listen

This may be a simple little story, but I almost couldn't keep the recording going when I heard the voice of the narrator. Sicky sweet voice that would have worked well for a children's book, but just grating for adults.
