Publisher's Summary

While renowned designer Margaux Sullivan was presenting her highly praised collection during New York City's Fashion Week, her husband was cleaning out their bank account. A week after he disappeared, the bank foreclosed on Margaux's apartment and business.

Suddenly broke, betrayed, and humiliated, Margaux has nowhere else to turn to but home: the small coastal town of Crescent Cove, Connecticut, where she once knew love, joy, and family before she put them behind her on the climb to fame. When she's stopped for speeding by local interim police chief Nick Prescott, Margaux barely remembers the "townie" boy who worshipped her from afar every summer. But Nick is all grown up now, a college professor who gave up his career to care for his orphaned nephew, Connor. Though still vulnerable, Margaux is soon rediscovering the beauty of the shore through young Connor's eyes...and, thanks to Nick, finding a forgotten place in her heart that wants to love again.

But as she continues to work on a bold new line that will get her back into the game, Margaux realizes that soon she will have to make the most important, most difficult decision of her life....

Wonderful!

What a wonderful story! I listen as I drive for work in the car and sometimes wanted to drive further because I didn't want to stop for the day.

overall a lovely listen

as someone who typically listens to true crime podcasts and mystery books, I wanted to find something that wasn't too predictable but that had a good story line. this book was the perfect easy listen. not too cheesy, not too steamy, and not too predictable.

cute but predictable

Interesting story but after the first chapter you can guess the whole entire story. The best part of the book was the narrator. Erin Bennett didn't make the male characters sound like dorks or weirdos. Great job!

Mediocre At Best

This was the first novel I ever read by Ms. Noble but I probably won't read any more. I found the writing mediocre, at best and boring at worst. The story was tired and predictable. I found Margot to be very selfish. She didn't even realize that she used the fine folks of Crescent Cove to make her comeback in the design world and then deserted them. Don't waste your time with Shelley Noble. Read something by Barbara O'Neal/Samuel instead of you want some quality writing.

You could tell from the very first chapter what was going to happen.
Very disappointed...

Selfish Men!

I loved the interaction with Connor and Margeaux. But needs to take a few anger management and "letting go of control" classes. He was a jerk about Margeaux's dreams. How very selfish!
