Publisher's summary

When wildlife photographer Ray Ingalls is murdered in the new owl-protection zone in rural White Rock, New Hampshire, Chief Sam Mason's number-one suspect is his archenemy Lucas Thorne.

.... Until a mysterious stranger reveals that the victim was up to a lot more than just taking photographs of endangered owls. Suddenly it appears that a lot more people had motive to want Ray dead.

Sam, Sergeant Jody Harris, and their K-9 Lucy now have a fresh batch of suspects, all of whom have secrets they don't want exposed. But when Sam's hopes of putting Thorne away for good dwindle, help comes in the form of an unlikely ally - one who promises to aid Sam in getting rid of Thorne and clearing up the mystery around officer Tyler Richardson's untimely death.

Just when it seems like Sam has it all wrapped up, the unthinkable happens, plunging Sam and Jo into an even deeper mystery and proving that nothing good ever comes from exposing truths.

Review Exposing truths

I enjoyed reading this story. It has easy to follow and believable storyline. The characters are likable . On the negative side, the narrator needs to be smoother. The accents have to go. If possible, more clarity on the different voices. ( I appreciate how difficult that may be given the amount of characters) overall I like the stories(1,2,and3 )and am looking forward to more.

Multiple Readers Get A Poor Grade

I thought the accents giving to each character distracting at the very least and quite dreadful. For the most part. One reader is enough!

No bad language, GREAT

I like mysteries that make you use your mind to try to figure things out. Also, a little romance. No bed hopping is so great. No horrible words is a good thing. I know the words, I don't need to hear them on audio.

All three books are WoW

I truly enjoyed a three of these books. The problem is the last book isn't on audible. consequently the series is incomplete. My eyesight is too poor for reading a printed book. Amazon you have failed me!

Waste of time

Bad narration weak characters. Then it stopped with no conclusion. I don’t care enough to read the next book to find out what happened

Narrator awful!

I have listed to MANY books, this person is the absolute worse. I could not finished it. I had to download the written version to find out what happened. He did the two main characters well but could not seem to handle other voices. They voices were squeaky and just the worse voices to listen too. Also if you can not do an accent DO NOT do it. Narrators that try and fail the "New England" accent are so grating. Also it is not the same accent through New England, the nuances are hard to handle - so don't. Story was good though.

Jarring date inconsistencies

A Gremlin and other 70's to 80's cars used as if commonplace, alongside K-cups, Craigs list, etc which didn't EXIST when those vehicles roamed the streets. Choose a decade and at least watch cop shows from the era to get the coffee maker right. It felt like a Gen Z author took an incomplete manuscript and filled in the blank sections without any attempt at research. It was so jarring that it took me entirely out of the story flow several times. I struggled to finish it for that reason. The ending was rather abrupt as well. It felt like another chapter or even several more paragraphs would have helped build anticipation for another book.
