Publisher's summary

From the moment he lays eyes on the Sinners' new soundboard operator, drummer Eric Sticks knows he has to make Rebekah his. Unfortunately, she's too busy trying to seduce guitarist Trey Mills to pay him much attention. Rebekah never planned to fall for the tall, goofy drummer with the weird sense of humor and a heart the size of the galaxy.

But Eric makes her laugh and his constant attention makes her feel sexy and irresistible - exactly what she needs after the things her last lover said to her. A woman who gives as much as she takes, Rebekah makes Eric feel like a total stud - exactly what he needs after surviving a decade of watching the incredibly talented members of the Sinners from the wings.

BOO HOO.... THE TOUR IS FINALLY OVER

But what a great journey it was - full of passionate mentally tortured men and women desperately trying to fit together, overcome some terrible obstacles (and people) all in the frantic hope of keeping hold of their chosen lovers.

Eric and Rebekah were such likeable characters who hit it off from the start (with the help from Trey) as they were both quirky and had the same interests (and hairdo's) but both were so vulnerable too because of their sex issues. However, they help each other to heal and overcome their different problems in such a sweet, caring, funny, sexy and passionate way. They never gave up - despite a crazy Mom, a crazier ex boyfriend as well as the threat of Cancer but together they proved they were meant to be together.

Great series, fantastic book, really HOT HOT HOT listen, with a bit of a recap of the other members and finally what Eric said to Rebekah near the end when the threat was back was just soooo tender and touching.

Worth a credit? YES for this book and YES YES YES YES for all the others.

YES! And I might have...

Any additional comments?

This whole series is one big awesome orgy. And I'm so glad we finally get to hear about Eric's story!!!

Hot and Funny all in one

Well what can you say but awesome series. I waited a long time for this book to come out so that I read the series in order. You need to read this before Double Time or else you will have spoilers. I have to say out of all the books in this series this was probably my least favourite. Having said that, I still loved the book but it is hard when all the others are so good. If you compare them then this book falls a little short. The part that I did not like in this was Eric and Reb's special brand of kink. I guess I don't get role playing. Some of it was funny but other parts I just thought were dumb. I guess you expect a little dumb from Eric but it was not my favourite. Other parts were great and you just have to cheer for the under dog Eric no matter what. Again I liked the fact that all the characters reappear in this story and that it picks up from where it left off. I also think that it was more about the sex than a really indepth story line. I think the other books had more of a story line than this one. But in the end who cares as the book is still great and makes you not want to stop listening The narrator rocks like no one else. She really makes you feel like each character is an individual and her male voices are great. So if you are thinking about this book, and have not read the others you need to start at book one as they all follow one another. Even though it says Double Time is before this book it was released in the wrong order so don't skip ahead. I say this is really worth the credit.

ERIC DESERVES THE BEST

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Absolutely ! I would recommend the entire series. Olivia Cunning is an amazing writer and not afraid to sink her teeth into the whole rock star scene; language, look, sex, as well as into the souls of the individuals in the Sinner's band.

What other book might you compare Wicked Beat to and why?

Any of the other in the series, but most particularly Jace's story.

Have you listened to any of Justine O. Keef’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes. She, too, is amazing. The combination of OC & JOK is great. Ms. O. Keef has a talent for voices, inflections and expressions. I would listen to her anytime.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

There were a lot of moving scenes and I can't pick any particular one.

Any additional comments?

This book had it all; light banter amongst bandmates, explicit sex, angst, fun, but most importantly it was all interspersed with laughter and levity. I loved the humor, even Eric's corny jokes. All the emotions were great.

I do think that Rebekah was a bit childish at times and quite insightful at others, but I am supposing that's what OC was trying to portray.

Loved the series. Jace's story was my favorite and then this one next.

Very good addition to the series :D

4 stars

This was a very good story. I liked Eric and Rebekah and their story was very enjoyable. I’m not much on love triangles but fortunately Rebekah’s interest in seducing Trey doesn't last for too long.

Rebekah is a sound board operator and the little sister of Dave, the sound board operator that was working for the rock band Sinners. Dave was injured badly in a wreck of the tour bus so arrangements are made for Rebekah to fill in for her big brother until he’s back on his feet. Rebekah had 1 serious relationship with a guy named Isaac. He helped her through a bout of cancer so Rebekah will always be grateful to him but he also made her feel like less of a woman since her recovery which caused their split. Rebekah has always had the hots for Trey (a guitarist in Sinners) so when she gets the chance to work for the band she’s determined to seduce Trey.

Eric is the drummer for the rock band Sinners. He was born to a drug addict that abandoned him up at 4 years old and he ended up in the foster system. Eric’s life wasn't great but he found a love of music to give him something to hold on to. Eric has a big heart and tends to try to hold on to those he cares about, even when doing so isn't always the best thing for him.

Eric and the band go to see Dave in the hospital to talk about the sound board operator job. When they arrive, Eric is flummoxed by the appearance of an angel...well at least Dave’s sister. Eric pretty much falls for Rebekah right off the bat, noting that they both had the same shade of blue died in their hair so it must be fated. Unfortunately, Rebekah’s infatuation with Trey becomes apparent very quickly. Because of his past, Eric has never felt very lovable and he’s very sad that Rebekah is so interested in Trey. As soon as Rebekah joins them on tour, it’s clear just how much Eric and her have in common (starting with a love of classic cars). Eric is also thrilled with the fact that Rebekah doesn't seem to have a problem with his tendency to always tell the truth and say everything that comes in to his head. Rebekah finds that she likes Eric but has been so stuck on Trey that she has a hard time shifting gears at first. To be honest, I was a bit annoyed with Trey because he knew that Eric wanted Rebekah and I couldn't tell if he was trying to help or hinder Eric’s progress with Rebekah (and if he was helping I wasn't too hot on him methods). Thankfully, it doesn't take too long before Rebekah shifts her interest completely over to Eric.

Eric is thrilled once he has Rebekah’s attention but there are still some issues for both of them. Eric tends to like to watch sexual acts instead of participating because…well let’s just say that he has a hair trigger. Rebekah is freaked about the possibility of letting a man have sex with her because of some body issues her Ex left her with. This is where I really liked Eric’s complete honesty because it helped their situation very much. Rebekah decided that she liked his honesty and tried to be very honest with him in return. Because of this, they were able to talk things out between them and were able to come together in a free and honest exploration of their wants and desires. It also helped because Rebekah was feeling really unsexy after her Ex and Eric’s uncensored comments about how hot she was and how much he wanted her really helped her and made her feel special and wanted. The relationship between them isn't perfect but they do really well together, especially when others aren't causing problems for them. Obviously, there are some outside forces that try to cause issues for them but they do get past these obstructions and end the story starting their well-deserved HEA.

This was a very enjoyable story. I really liked Rebekah and Eric. They're both such fun and enjoyable characters that I really liked seeing them together and the interactions between them. I think my only real complaint is that I didn't like the whole Trey/Rebekah/Eric love triangle situation in the beginning and I was glad when it was resolved. Overall, it was a very good story and I'm looking forward to more of the series. I’d recommend this book. :D

Love the sinners!

Any additional comments?

Awwwwe Eric is so sweet. It was nice to get to read this story about him and get to know him better. In previous stories I really didn't think I would be so interested in reading an entire story about Eric, but I'm pleasantly surprised.
So happy that he found Rebeka. They are really perfect for each other.

Fun Listen

I went into this book with trepidation. I really enjoyed the other 4 books but have seen some mixed reviews for this book. While this is not my favorite in the series it was enjoyable. Part of me wishes there was more story and less sex but after reflection I felt this probably was the right approach for Eric's story. I laughed often throughout the book and wanted to physically hurt Reb's mother when she talked to Eric but overall it was awesome to see Eric get his turn at love. Justine was the perfect narrator; as was with the previous 4 books.

My only frustration is in Sed's & Eric's stories there were details that seemed out of order; that Eric's story should have come before Sed's but some details in Eric's story included Jessica so maybe it was correct that Sed's book was first.

I am definitely glad that I purchased this book to complete the series and would recommend the series to my friends.

Funny & Sexual

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Oh yes. This series is great, but this book is the best so far. It was so funny in so many parts I laughed out loud, you know what it like when you're sitting at your desk at work with your ear phones in and you start laughing out loud? People look at you funny but it was so worth it.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Wicked Beat?

There are so many parts that are great, it's hard to pick just one.

Which character – as performed by Justine O. Keef – was your favorite?

My favorite character is Eric....He is so silly and naive. Between him and Reb I laughed so hard.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed through most of it....

Any additional comments?

It is worth the credit....It is worth paying the $$ for it. It is best if you listen to the first 3 books first but this can stand on it's own.
