Publisher's Summary

In July of 1984, an armed man walked into a McDonald’s in San Ysidro and murdered 21 people. At the time, it was the deadliest mass shooting in US history. The massacre created a strange dilemma for McDonald’s: what happened wasn’t their fault, but the event was becoming synonymous with their brand. The corporation decided to replace the branch’s windows, clean up the blood, and reopen their doors to the public. But the survivors had a different plan.

If you like....

..listening to This American Life and Snap Judgment you will like this. Well told and an interesting concept. What can happen to places after an event takes place. I particularly liked the haunted house episode.

Great idea for a series

Fabulous idea for a series. I've not heard anything like this and I hadn't heard of any of the places mentioned in the episodes. All were really interesting and thought provoking.

The McDonalds story was one of horror and community strength. Definitely worth a listen.
