Lonnara Trin is the captain of a merchant ship from the all-female planet of Zetta Prime where sexual relationship with a male is considered unnatural and wrong. She has no use for males personally, but she needs a big, muscular slave or her business will suffer. Thrace fits the bill.

Soon, mistress and slave are embroiled in a desperate conflict which draws them intimately together. To her surprise, Trin actually begins to have feelings for her slave. And though Thrace swore to be free, he finds himself devoted to his new mistress.

When their differences threaten to tear them apart, Trin tries to grant Thrace his freedom. But she doesn’t realize that his heart has already been enslaved.

Great story and great characters

I loved the complexity and the creation of the different characters. How was very real.

Cults,Religions,Trauma,Freedom

May be triggering for those with past religious trauma or physical or sexual abuse.
A good story that journeys through trauma, it's effects, and beyond.

I prefer the other narrator for her books.

The narrator should not whisper. it's creepy. just speak normally. Mackenzie Cartwright is much better at it

So good.

This book fits near the top of my favorite Kindred Bride books. It is such a well balanced book. Topics in in are very difficult ones. Plus let’s not forget the smeggsy stuff.
