Publisher's summary

My name is Zoe McKinley. I have a boring life, an awful job, and a boss who throws staplers at my head. What could be worse?

How about being abducted by aliens?

Being dragged through a mirror, naked and screaming, onto an extraterrestrial ship was bad. Finding out I had been sold to a huge alien male who looks like the devil was worse. But learning he wanted to trade me to an intergalactic petting zoo was the worst of all!

Now I'm whizzing through the galaxy with a robot butler, a trio of nib-nibs (they're like tiny green monkeys), and one huge, muscular, and very grumpy alien. The clothing they gave me shows all my lady bits, the food-sim makes banana cream pie that tastes like sauerkraut, and Sarden, my captor, is too hot to stay mad at, even if he is a jerk.

In fact I think I might be falling for him.

What's a girl to do? It's all in a day's work when you've been...Abducted.

Reverse Stockholm Syndrome!

I absolutely LOVE Evangeline Anderson's wild crazy imagination! Each story she writes is amazing, and her world building is some of the BEST in Sci-Fi romances! I thought I loved listening to the Brides of Kindred, but Abducted, the first book in the Alien Mate Index series had me laughing out loud. It was the perfect blend of erotic, suspense, action, and lot's of snarky humor.

May Contain Spoilers,
If you're ever abducted by aliens, don't forget Reverse Stockholm Syndrome...... you just might need it! At least, it worked for Zoe (kinda of) when she was abducted, and sold to Sarden, a huge, red skinned, horned alien. Out of all the women on earth, Zoe can't believe Sarden would have chosen her, after all, she's not exactly thin super model material. She's a BBW with red hair, fair skin, and freckles, but what really makes her so special is she is consider an elite female, and a Pure One with a hidden talent to boot. The Pure One's are among the descendants who were seeded by the Ancient Ones long ago. After the Ancient Ones seeded earth, earth was considered off limits, and never breached by aliens until recently. Zoe's not buying any of this Pure One with talents, but when Sarden touches Zoe, she can't deny the zing that runs through her body. Sarden does't plan on keeping Zoe for himself, he needs to sell Zoe to Tazaxx in hopes of getting his sister back. As Sarden takes Zoe away from earth, she devises her Reverse Stockholm Syndrome plan to appeal to Sarden in hopes he will change his mind, and return her to earth.

Sarden may be huge with horns, and red skin, but he isn't evil. He actually has a heart, and allows Zoe to roam freely around his spaceship, that is until she starts making trouble. She just can't help herself, and as she slowly realizes there may be some truth to her having a special gift, she finds herself in one deadly situation after another with some comical or steamy results. The more time Sarden, and Zoe spend together, the steamier it gets! They start developing feelings for each other, and as they get closer to their destination, Sarden knows he can no longer go through with selling Zoe to free his sister. They start working as a team, and come up with a plan to get his sister back.

The narrators did an AWESOME job! I loved how Mackenzie delivered all of Zoe's snarky dialogue, and William has a great voice, very pleasant to listen too. These narrators really brought this story to life.

Abducted was hilarious, fun and entertaining. If you're a fan of Michelle Howard, S.E. Smith, or M. K. Eidem, you'll definitely want to consider this audio. It's a well written story with amazing world building. Not to mention, Anderson does a fantastic job melding erotic sensual scenes, with an action packed plot. I loved it, and it's well worth the $10 I spent! I'm really looking forward to the next audio in the series.

Zoe's an Embarrassment to an otherwise Great Book

OMG, this bitch is the worst example of a female. (I'm totally emotional, I never swear during reviews). Seriously, Zoe is the stupidest bitch ever (and I've purchased over 1,200 audio books). Really made me ashamed to be a woman; she was more of a child in her behaviors and thought processes than an adult female (and no, she was not young, she's well mature). Though, the author tried to make her appear to be strong and determined (which any child or animal can be and are.... strong and determined).
Examples: a creepy man is walking backwards with something in his hand.... what does she do? Why follow him of course (Her character's personality ruined a good book). You know who I am referring to, the character in the horror movie who hears a strange noise where noises shouldn't be... and she goes to look. Then, she sees something weird that moves in her periphery, what does she do? You've guessed it, she goes closer to take a look see. Next, she sees a strange man (a man she deemed creepy) and walks up to him volunteering information, and let's him lead her down a dark alley.
I just can't. What pissed me off even more than these, examples (there are much much more examples of her dumb ass), is that the book was really good had it not been for this embarrassment of a female. The book's really funny, sizzlingly hot, adventurous, interesting, and addicting. If you can get past this dumb bitch, you will love it. Her ridiculous behavior and thought processes caused the book to lose 2 stars.

this is the first time I to this author and I have to say I can't wait until hear the next one. this story is about a woman who gets brought by a devil looking men who really is a kind and he's trying to save his sister. his intention is 2 trade planet Earth girl for his sister but along the way they soon like each other and because of her unique gifts that she doesn't know she has, she becomes a very high valuable where people are trying to take her. I really enjoyed this book and I can't wait till the next one in meantime I will read other books and she has a great imagination good details and the narrator's did a great job.

No way

I had 4hrs left on the book but I could not bring myself to finish it. Chemistry felt forced and stupid decisions made by both characters.... Couldn't bring myself to like either one.

Always amazing reads

Would you listen to Abducted again? Why?

Yes I would because I love all Evangeline Anderson books and the story was really well developed.

What did you like best about this story?

The characters development but I will say the female leads character was frustrating but she always out herself in jeopardy or just did really dumb things that would get her in a bind that could easily be avoided.

Which scene was your favorite?

Probably when the character pretends to be a slave, theirs a really hilarious scene that had me screaming with laughter because it was so shocking lol.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It made me laugh for sure and made me frustrated because of the stupid straps the female lead fell for.

Oh you devil

i love Evangeline's books. She has such an imagination and her books just draw you in. This one did not disappoint. I was drawn in from the start. This book has it all. Humor, action and romance. I liked the way she presented the heroine as being "curvy" and not being ashamed of her size 16 shape. Sarden seeing her curves as being perfect. I can't wait till next book is put in audio. If not i will have to read it.

surprising

Enjoyed more than I thought. Slightly different romance space fluff. still at times you wonder how the lead female lives due to sheer stupidity. male lead was a bit under whelming. In spite of all that still OK.

Finally

I've been dying for the book to come on audio and now I'm hooked.

I love all her books. She never disappoints. I may want to strangle the females at time but I keep on listening every time

Done

First before I get into the book, I want to say that the male narrator was awesome! The female narrator was wonderful but the character she had to portray was not likable.

By chapter 10, I wanted to toss the heroine out of the space lock. She’s a paralegal, so I expected her to be smart. She’s a bit slow on the uptake and some of her decisions don’t make any sense. She also seems to have a similar issue as several of the other leading ladies in other series by this author – she BODY SHAMES herself to no end and after awhile it’s just freaking annoying. I don’t have any reason to like or care about her.

Her reasons for wanting to return to earth aren’t convincing either considering her life was mediocre at best and shallow at worst. Yet the hero’s reason for abducting her in the first place makes me care more for him than for her.

The female character just seems like a rinse and repeat of several of this author’s other books. So I give up. I’m not going to finish this book, the series or anything else by this author.

Done.

Yet another great book from Evangeline. I have read and listened to many books from Evangeline and loved every single one of them. I don’t like giving away the story as I want you to read it for yourself. 5 stars with every book. I know you will love these too if you like Alien romance books. Enjoy ladies.

couldn't stop listening

I loved this book. The style of writing makes it easy to get into the characters and there is a distinctive style change as the narration switches between them. I found the male narrator a little difficult to get into at first but it soon became very easy to become engrossed by what was happening. There are some good plot twists as well to keep you intrigued with the overall story as well as the romance part and excellent characters.
