Publisher's Summary

Could you ever love the unrepentant rake who won you in a wager?

He didn’t gamble on losing his heart when he won her at the gaming tables.

Pierce, the Earl of Wainthorpe has finally thwarted his worst enemy. Except he can’t revel in his victory after winning his foe’s ward in a winner-takes-all wager. If Pierce refuses to assume Bianca Salisbury’s guardianship, the fiery-haired beauty with a matching temper may very well find herself sold to the highest bidder.

The shameful secret she guards makes it impossible to love a rogue.

Desperate to escape her blackguard cousin, Bianca Salisbury ventures to London to find a husband or employment. Instead, she’s bartered to a notorious rakehell. She either risks being compromised and accepts The Earl of Wainthorpe’s protection, or flees him and her guardian. But without money and a place to go, she fears she’ll face the same tragic fate as her mother.

Caution: This romance features a sexy, irredeemable scoundrel determined to thumb his nose at the haut ton, a saucy country miss unafraid to speak her mind but terrified of even a hint of scandal, a unlikely aristocratic matchmaker, a trio of busybody sisters you’ll adore, and a very pregnant calico that is convinced humans are only around for her convenience.

For a pause-resisting historical romance novel brimming with Regency England’s rakish dukes and rapscallion lords, buy this passionate adventure sprinkled with suspense and humor. You won’t be able to put it down.

Wicked Earl's? Yes, please.

Regency romances are one of my favorite book genre's. This one was really well-done.

The wicked Earl in question was only bad on the surface. It served him well on his vendetta's but caused quite a lot of friction with his new ward. It made for a very delightful read.

I absolutely loved the narrator. I honestly can't recall if Manning is male or female; the presentation for both was exceptional.

If there are other books in this series, I'm all in.

Lovely Listen

Since I am a "died in the wool" fan of Collette's work, I will just say that this is one of her most fascinating stories. Pierce and Bianca intrigued me from the first chapter. So much so that I would love to read (listen) to more of their story in the future, and will be purchasing more of this series on the chance that they will be featured as sub-characters. Joff Manning as a narrator will also bear watching. He did an outstanding job.

A great Story

I read this book previously and enjoyed it then but the narration really adds to the story. The characters are smart and fun and you can't help but want to see them find their Happily Ever After

Heartwarming

Collette can spin a wicked tale and she certainly did with this wicked Earl. Pierce won Bianca in a game of cards from his worst enemy. Pierce was determined to bring Bianca’s cousin to ruin. Then he took her to his country estate. He soon found out she was a strong woman. The fur began to fly! What a fun story and I loved the male narrator, Joff Manning.

Brought to life one of my fave couples, loved it

This was still the same fabulous story I read before, but listening to Joff Manning narrate allowed me to pick up on a few things I missed before. This is a relatively quick listen as far as audiobooks go, and it is worth the time. I love how love can change another of the Wicked Earls into a romantic, tender man. Pierce and Bianca make a wonderful couple.

I received a copy of this audiobook as a gift, and this is my unsolicited review.

Lovely Romance

Pierce, the Earl of Wainthorpe wins the guardianship of Bianca Salisbury in a card game from his enemy, Lord Fairfax. Pierce blames him for the death of his mother.

Bianca, although has feelings for Pierce, she is not going to go down the same road her mother did, after her father left, but Lord Fairfax, which is her uncle, she is not fond of him either, goes willingly with Pierce.

This is a lovely love story, as Pierce has fallen in love with Bianca.

The narration is very good as well.

Hero loses heart after winning at card game!

The Earl of Wainthorpe is a wonderful “guardianship” regency romance. It is the third book in the Wicked Earls' Club series and the first audiobook I’ve ever listened to written by Collette Cameron. It is well written in the point of view of the hero, with strong characters, and not too much sex.

The story begins with Pierce, the Earl of Wainthorpe, in a card game against his worst enemy, Lord Fairfax, the man who killed his mother in India when he was a small boy. Fairfax is desperate for a victory and in the kitty was the deed to his ancestral home. After watching Fairfax mention how he was willing to barter his young niece Bianca Salisbury to the highest bidder, Pierce demands that Fairfax include Bianca in the wager. Pierce did so, not because he wanted a wife, ward, or mistress, but rather to save Bianca from the misdeeds of her unscrupulous uncle who is sure to sell Bianca to the highest bidder. Needless to say, Pierce won.

The rest of the story is about how Pierce and Bianca learned to trust each other after she makes several attempts to run away. Pierce admires her independence, talents, and feisty nature. However, Bianca never again wants to be in the position to be reliant on anyone after being mistreated by those responsible for her in the past. She also doesn’t want Pierce to marry her merely to protect her reputation, but rather because he truly loves her. Despite her valiant attempts to thwart off her feelings for Pierce, Bianca eventually succumbs, acknowledging he is nothing like her father or uncle (and he loves her).

I listened to the audiobook version of this story narrated by Joff Manning. He did a fantastic job, giving all of the characters a unique voice. He also had good intonation and pace. In summary, I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this audiobook and recommend it to anyone who enjoys regency romance.

Wainthorpe's Wager

Pierce was determined to take everything from Lord Fairfax. He wagered and won, but got more than he bargained for when that everything included guardianship of Fairfax’s cousin, the beautiful, feisty Bianca Salisbury. What’s he to do with her?

Once you get passed the tension of the card game, this is a fun story. Bianca is spunky and has an independent streak. Pierce has to learn to deal with Bianca and respectability (he was happy being a rogue). As they spend time together, an attraction develops. He gets advice from the Earl of Coventry and his absolutely delightful sisters. Now that Pierce has revenge and Bianca is free of her cruel cousin, can they find a happily ever after? It looks as though it might be difficult, but love and a trio of “helpful” sisters might just find a way. The characters, story, wit and humor, and the ending are what you expect from Collette Cameron – engaging, entertaining, and of course, romantic.

Listening to Joff Manning read this story was a delight. He has a great voice for narration, and his character voicing is terrific.

Sweet Regency Romance

This was my first Collette Cameron's book. This is the third book in the Wicked Earls' Club. Unfortunately, I haven't read the first books in the Series. This story is well written. I love strong characters. Pierce and Bianca are strong and their chemistry is indeniable. Pierce is handsome, supportive and protective with Bianca. This story is different than the others, because we have, for most of the time, the Pierce's POV. The secondary characters are also very interesting. The Epilogue is beautiful. The narration was well done. Joff Manning has a great voice. I received this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review. I've read and listened this story.

A fun period romp!

If you're into bodice-ripping tales of rakish aristocrats, rapscallion lords, and fulsome damsels - with a dash of humour - this is the series for you. No need to start from the beginning of the series, you can jump straight in here. The narrator's rich and deep English voice is an extra treat!

Excellent Narration.

This was my first Collette Cameron novel and my first introduction to the Wicked Earl's Club. It works well as a stand alone story.
It is quite a charming read. Pierce is a very endearing character and not wicked at all. I enjoyed the activity surrounding the bet at the beginning of the novel and Bianca's interactions with the earl's sisters. However I would have liked more drama or suspense with Bianca's cousin, Fairfax, to liven up the story after Bianca becomes the earl's ward.

I loved the narration. I thought that the characters were all excellently performed and it was very easy to listen to. I would definitely listen to more books performed by Joff Manning.

This was a lovely Regency romance and I would look forward to reading more by the author although I found it annoying that American words were used instead of English e.g diapers. The inaccuracies annoy me as they have the immediate effect of pulling me out of the story's time and place. The phrase 'didn't have a pence' rather than a 'penny' also stood out.

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

Sweet & mostly clean with bursts of sexual tension

With a series title like The Wicked Earls' Club, I expected the book to be a little bit naughtier than it was. To be fair, the story is sweet. Pierce and Bianca undeservedly exist on the fringes of the haute ton. Their personal histories may be more scandalous, the reality of them is more scandal-less (despite a lot of scandal potential). In fact, despite the suggestion sexual tension between the two, and the overall compatibility, the story is quite clean. The story focused more on the gentle simmer of love between two bruised souls.

I enjoyed the story but I do wish there was a little more "wicked".
