Publisher's Summary

In this scorching Dark Kings novella, New York Times best-selling author Donna Grant brings together a determined Dragon King used to getting what he wants and an Ice Queen who thaws for no one.

Marked by passion

A promise made eons ago sends Sebastian to Italy on the hunt to find an enemy. His quarry proves difficult to locate, but there is someone who can point him in the right direction - a woman as frigid as the north. Using every seductive skill he's acquired over his immortal life, his seduction begins. Until he discovers that the passion he stirs within her makes him burn for more....

Gianna Santini has one love in her life - work. A disastrous failed marriage was evidence enough to realize she was better off on her own. That is until a handsome Scot strolled into her life and literally swept her off her feet. She is unprepared for the blazing passion between them or the truth he exposes. But as her world begins to unravel, she realizes the only one she can depend on is the very one destroying everything - a Dragon King.

More like a 2.5 Stars - better than okay.

A quick read that moves the overall arc slightly forward and I do mean slightly. This is the 11.5th book in a series that has begun to drag, unfortunately. I LOVED this series, unfortunately, it seems like Donna, the author is trying to appease readers in the "writing more stories" in this world vs. completing the series which would provide the readers with the much desired questions to their answers and maybe create another spin off. There is no doubt that Donna is a great story teller and has created both a world and characters that readers love. For me, I think its an issue of finally learning who Rhi's Dragon King and how things will end.

The story has the usual Sexy Dragon King who declares how love isn't for them, a heroine who happens to be able to provide some sort of answer to what the Dragon Kings are seeking. SIDE NOTE: these are the two factors that keep repeating over and over again in all (if not most) of the previous 11 books. and as soon as I read it in this one, I sighed in frustration. Back to the story, the usual Sexy Dragon King, Heroine being used to further the Kings cause, sexy time, action between the good guys and the bad ones. Then we get closer to the end where we learn a little something new and end of story.

Though it says that this can be read as a standalone and it totally can, but I think readers would get more out of the story if they have read the previous books.

Narrator's Review:
Antony has narrated the entire series and continues to rock! His performance is great, providing each male character with their own voices and he does a really good job with the female characters. Its not overly done.

Overall, its a good read and better than "okay". I am looking forward to see what the next full length book brings.

Another great one from Donna Grant

What a fantastic series this is. I started with the Dark Sword Series which blended into the Dark Warrior Series which then blended into the Dark Kings series, all so fluidly. This author is a genius. This book is 11.5 in the series and can not wait to get to the 12th book. They all have such awe inspiring drama and romance, I was never bored. The narrator was great, had a wonderful brogue.

Dragon Burn

This is book 11.5 in the Dark Kings series. It is part of the 1001 Dark Nights. Sebastian goes to Italy to get information about Mikkel and Ulric. And plans to seduce Gianna to get that information. But his mission doesn't turn out the way he planned it to. Gianna works as a person assistant and wants nothing to do with men. But Sebastian is different. And boy is she in for a suprise when she finds out just how different he is. And Gianna does some seducing of her own. This book was really good. Of course all of Donna Grant's books are great.

Favorite Yet By Far

You will fall in LOVE with SEBASTIAN!!
A closer look at a younger Ulrik, showing why they loved him so as a brother & friend. This has been my very favorite Dark Kings book by far! A little short, but still romantic, exciting and sexy hot as always!

a must read/listen

I don't normally listen to the .. in between books but you must listen to this one before moving on. I dislike that there is a story breaker in what I would consider an optional book to the series.

Sebastian

I have always loved the Dragon King series by Donna Grant as her characters are so well constructed they feel like family. 5 Stars for Donna Grant for providing us with yet another wonderful Dragon King story. 5 Stars to Anthony Ferguson for bringing all the characters to life. He really makes a sexy Dragon King with his astounding talent. He one of my favorite audiobook narrators. I say this is a don't miss audiobook even though it's labeled a novella. It's a fabulous way to spend time away in a time and place of mystery and romance.

There's a lot packed into this novella!

I usually don't like shorter stories, but this one moved smoothly. There were a few twists I wouldn't have predicted, but loved!
