Publisher's Summary

Kash Kamdar is the king of a peaceful but powerful island nation. As Loa Mali's sovereign, he is always in control, the final authority. Until his mother uses an ancient law to force her son into marriage. His prospective queen is a buttoned-up intellectual, nothing like Kash's usual party girl. Still, from the moment of their forced engagement, he can't stop thinking about her.

Dayita Samar comes from one of Loa Mali's most respected families. The Oxford-educated scientist has dedicated her life to her country's future. But under her staid and calm exterior, Day hides a few sexy secrets of her own. She is willing to marry her king, but also agrees that they can circumvent the law. Just because they're married doesn't mean they have to change their lives. It certainly doesn't mean they have to fall in love.

After one wild weekend in Dallas, Kash discovers his bride-to-be is more than she seems. Engulfed in a changing world, Kash finds exciting new possibilities for himself. Could Day help him find respite from the crushing responsibility he's carried all his life? This fairy tale could have a happy ending, if only they can escape Kash's past....

You won't want to miss this one!

I have been looking forward to Kash's story ever since we first met him way back when. I was not disappointed. Kash is an interesting King. He is very human. In other words, he has issues just like everyone else in this amazing world of Masters and Mercenaries does. He just happens to be royalty, like that would make any difference to anyone at Sanctum, or Mckay/Taggart. He is just one of the guys. It just added more issues. I loved learning about Kash's country and some of their customs. Not to mention more of his story. Like the love of his life. That was so fun. You won't want to miss this one. Narration. Ryan West is fabulous! Not only does he have a voice to td die for, but he has a thousand and one voices. I had no problem figuring out who was speaking. It was that good. I will have to find more books narrated by him. He is good!

Good

This was a really good book. This was book 13.5 in the "Masters and Mercenaries" series. We met the King of Loa Mali Kashmir "Kash" Kamdar a few books back he is the playboy king a manwhore. When his mother Queen Yasmine decides that its time for him to slow down and get married she pick a bride for him Dayita "Day" Samar. Day and Kash went to school together and they spent a lot of time together and on the day that he found out that his father and brother died she kissed him 15 years later he finds that his mother has picked her for his bride the one that got away. Day gave up her dream of being a doctor when her mother got sick and she had to return to the island to take care of her. Day is a strong independent woman who also had a secret turns out Day is a domme and his mother knew it. On there wedding day one of Kash's ex's shows up and tries to get him to leave Day and when he tells her no she tells him about Day whipping and tying up men and Kash doesn't know how to handle it. When someone kills one of the servant's the guys from McKay and Taggart Simon and Jesse take Kash and Day to Dallas and Santcum where people know who Day is and have seen her work. Kash had a hard time submitting to a woman because he always felt that the man had to be strong I wanted to slap him. Ian was his same old self but he was trying to help Kash who thought he was a Dom. This was a really good book it was well written like all of the books in this series. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

🌻Less action than most M and M books!🌻

🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻V from Kansas🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻

This book was OK. The plot was predictable and Kass, the Hero, reacted the same way 97% of men who are submissive, in books with a D/s theme. It would have been nice to experience an unique approach, in this book. The MT team played an exterior roll, in this book. They provided security for their long time friend, King Kass. Therefore, there wasn’t the military-type drama and there was less interaction between the MT team members;I missed that. I was glad that Kass finally found his way to happy.

Ryan West is a very talented narrator and he is one of a special group of narrators that can pull off both female and male voices. However, his female characters do tend to have more masculine voices.

Not for me

I love this author and listened most of her books. This story didn’t do it for me. I had a hard time connecting with the main characters and didn’t care for the sex scenes. After six chapters, I gave up and went straight to the last chapter. I just wanted to see how this story end. I didn’t like the end either. I gave high overall rating because I thought the writing was good, just not the story. Also it was told in 3 POV which I didn’t like. The performance was excellent and will definitely listen more from him.

Such a Refreshing Reversal

It's not every book that Mrs. Blake writes with the female being the dominant partner so I was curious how'd this play out with King Kash. It was a beautiful story with all the complexity I expected. As usual, I am enthralled with every book she writes.

Loved this one

Kash and Dayita’s story was so engaging and lovable. I have either listened to or read every book in the Masters and Mercenaries series. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect with this one. But I adored the twists and turns. I think the resolution of the conflicts in this story were believable and just downright great! A must read/listen if you have read/listened to other books in the series and a must read/listen even if you haven’t.

Wow !!!

Lexi Blake is my go to author when I need action, humour, romance. I loved this book and all her master and mercenaries collection. This book was a bit different in a good way as we were introduced to more characters. Thank you.

Loved it!!

Kash is enigmatic, charming, mischevious, very naughty and so wonderfully entertaining. His threats are creative, descriptive, unusual and are declared with such pomp and command that you have no option but to smile. Day is strong, loyal, intelligent and full of surprises. She is perfect for him but the usual battles of preconceived roles for men and women create bumps in the road for them both. The interference from Mummy dearest is great! She is a game old bird who has her own tricks up her sleeves! As usual the Taggart family are fantastic! Who wouldn't want them st your back!! A great story, full of brilliant characters, fabulous interplay, well worth your time and effort!!

Wow

Loved this story of second chance at love. Of Kashmir and Day acknowledging their parts in life and brave enough to accept them and be proud of them.
As always Ryan West was awesome with the Narration.
