Publisher's summary

Delve into the history of the sinister Count Dooku in this audio original set in a galaxy far, far away....

Darth Tyranus. Count of Serenno. Leader of the Separatists. A red saber, unsheathed in the dark. But who was he before he became the right hand of the Sith? As Dooku courts a new apprentice, the hidden truth of the Sith Lord’s past begins to come to light.

Dooku’s life began as one of privilege - born within the stony walls of his family’s estate, orbited by the Funeral Moon where the bones of his ancestors lie interred. But soon, his Jedi abilities are recognized, and he is taken from his home to be trained in the ways of the Force by the legendary Master Yoda.

As he hones his power, Dooku rises through the ranks, befriending fellow Jedi Sifo-Dyas and taking a Padawan of his own, the promising Qui-Gon Jinn - and tries to forget the life that he once led. But he finds himself drawn by a strange fascination with the Jedi Master Lene Kostana, and the mission she undertakes for the Order: finding and studying ancient relics of the Sith, in preparation for the eventual return of the deadliest enemies the Jedi have ever faced.

Caught between the world of the Jedi, the ancient responsibilities of his lost home, and the alluring power of the relics, Dooku struggles to stay in the light - even as the darkness begins to fall.

Great first audio drama

This story greatly expands everything we know about Dooku and his backstory. It’s essentially an origin story. I wish more of it wasn’t told through recordings as the vocal effects get old after a while. The story feels somewhere between a clone wars episode and Harry Potter. I know that sounds strange but you will understand. While they barely reference each other, this was a great follow up to Master and Apprentice. Overall a really solid experiment. I hope they make more of these.

An Unexpected Surprise

Very good story with solid acting. my only gripe is the actor who played Dooku. His voice was similar to the other actors and it made it hard to tell who was who sometimes. Overall I enjoyed it though.

Cavan Scott makes Star Wars feel Alive.

Dooku: Jedi Lost puts you right in the middle of the action and makes you feel like you're on the streets or Serenno bathing in the rich lore of the Star Wars universe. A must read for any Star Wars fan.

Best look at the character

I was never a real big fan of Dooku as a character, but this book was so well written and voice acted. I drove around the block a few times just to listen a little bit longer. iconic characters popping up doesnt hit either.

Love Clone Wars?

This would have been easily a half a season ark that would have be amazing in The Clone Wars t.v. series. Love good origin stories and crazy how dedicated Ventris was to Dooku. Fun read!

Amazing

I loved it. I was skeptical on doing an audiobook of this book about count dooku but I didn’t like the set up for the book since it looked like a scripted book. It was awesome how there was sound effects, backstory in dooku since he is so mysterious. I loved cast of actors instead of just one person voicing everyone. The yoda and qui gon voice actors were so good and sounded like their characters; Dooku’s voice actor had to take some getting used to but he was good as a younger dooku. I wish they found some one a bit closer to chirsopther lees voice when he was older or Corey burtons voice from the clone wars. Aside from that nit pick, I loved this audio drama and how I could see the story by hearing it. I hope we can get more agonies in this format with great casting

very good story

a very good story... I wish they had to use the voice actors from the Clone Wars... Changed some of Dooku backstory from the Darth Plagueis novel which I liked quite a bit... I would totally read this!

Who is Count Dooku?

This was the first Star Wars audio drama in a long time. A great full cast production concerning former Jedi Count Dooku’s disillusionment with the Jedi Order and fall to the Dark Side. While the production quality is as fantastic as the cast, it was a somewhat difficult story to follow. It jumps back and forth quite a bit and it is not always easy to determine where we are and what is going on. I’ve probably been spoiled by the superb Alien audio dramas that always keep the listener on track. This wasn’t as clear. Fortunately a written version of this comes out in November, hopefully it was clarify some of the scenes that weren’t clear storywise.
